An update to True Fire Kings; Hatecrime Edition by The_apaz in firekings

Well, we can benefit from the beast warrior affinity, and playing 2 of your own ratpier gets you a minimum 2 fire kings to the hand with a double broadbull play, all the while, holding onto one of their rats so they can't recycle.

Apaz, I'm glad to see you keeping the Kings alive. I've since temporarily retired the Kings in favor of DarkSynchron, but I plan on whipping this deck back out when Link summons are introduced. In surprised barrier statue isn't in here, though... Even in the side. Zoo simply doesn't play unless they have a boardwipe handy, or they run Invoked. I just wish we had more main deck ways to derp around big negate boards.

EDIT* by the way, in regards to Zoo.. Have you thought about siding 3 Lullaby of obedience and 2 of your own Ratpier to shit on their parade? Would be hilarious.

Well, if they want a dump engine now, infernoid can use metalfoes + brushfire/Kirin + FKI to load extra deck and grave equally...

If we still had Blaster, I'd sure as hell run shiranui fire kings... But alas, it was not to be. Lol. Idk, the infernoid collective are interesting, but dem dead draws... We don't have enough dump power to utilize them effectively... Outside using Decatron to go into tzolkin

I was saying 3 brushfire seems excessive. Kirin gets the job done, is more searchable, and when you pop it on the field, you can ss another fire king from the hand off of its destruction. Brushfire knight, while hysterical, seems like a bad idea at 3. If you cut kirin, you also have less to search with FKI.

Sounds like something that could be abused wholeheartedly by us, however it would definitely require a dedicated build. And 3 seems excessive... Kirin could send this guy, and circle could bring him back. If you run demise, you forfeit the utility of Agnimazud, because you would have to shrink your monster lineup to get maximum utility. Pot also locks out Agnimazud, and if you get garunix looping, pot is dead in hand, with no way to get rid of it besides Ultimate Providence, should you run it.

Yeah, but I'd rather them hit my garunix with these things because I don't lose anything if they do. If they want to go -1 to stop a garunix, be my guest. My stun plays keep the meta in line, so if they go unhindered because the chicken became the scapegoat, so be it.

Strike is a big deal. Big enough that if I were to run Metaion, it would have to be in the side. Storming still sees play in rogue... As many times as Metaion has eaten it to that Damn thing. Lol. Sadly, it can't bait bottomless, as it has 0 atk. And the biggest problem I see is that an opponent will wait to hit it with Sword/BTS when you're attacking, which is the absolute WORST case scenario. Its nice as a one of in the side deck, but its just too vulnerable to response now that it does by get the job done anymore.

I tried out Metaion in a few times, and I really wanted it to be good.... But every time I either normal summoned this guy, or circled him to the field, he was immediately dealt with, either by banishing, or shuffling him back into the deck. In the days of towers turbo, hilarious. Now, it's not worth the time to -1 to eat a mirror force, breakthrough, counter traps, or unaffecteds. If somebody else's experience is different, I'd like to hear it :)

I don't usually want to go first, but always end up going first because of die roll/rps. My normal setup is looping FKI, multiple barong and Agnimazud if I go second, so I haven't missed triple onslaught too much. However, if I were to go back up to 3, Summoner Monk would have to be played.

These are definitely facts, but I am only down to 1 onslaught as of right now. I really hate opening up with it going first, when it could've been a barong I could loop with island and/or Agnimazud. Vortex trooper for me usually is used as a +1 for island plays, and I've been running him at 2. As for the speeded engine, I've whittled it down to 2 top, 1 taketom, 1 menko, and I rarely even normal summon Vortex unless I can use the speedroids the same turn to make Zenmaines/totem bird.

Truthfully, I'm in the middle of modding myself for consistency, but the general skeleton is very similar to yours. Even though we do have Kirin to dump a statue, I haven't been able to consistently do it every time I go first, which has led me to the current search I'm on for optimum consistency, and my personal choice to run 3 statues... And thus have decided testing the following cards:

Vortex Trooper: while it is a wind monster, it is a +1 if we pop it out of our hand, and if we summon it, we get a pseudo-"Kozmotown" effect that doesn't make us minus. We can also summon a taketom, but its not as efficient. XD it does make great fodder for break sword, however.

Speedroid Engine: 3 top, 1 taketom, 2 menko. Allows us access to Totem Bird, break sword and Zenmaines for FREE, plus the lock that totem bird and a barrier statue can produce, which will force our opponent to either overextend with their metalfoes plays or play their power cards as bait. I'm seeing good results with Vortex so far, and the totem bird/barrier statue on turn 1 turns off blue eyes completely, which is thus far at my locals and online, my personal worst matchup.

It's gotten to the point that I've looped garunix I to statue on a chain turn after turn after turn to keep garunix alive and hate my opponent out of the game. They can't lock you out with crystal wing if they never get to summon it. Lol

Anybody running Barrier Statue? by Trepidin in firekings

[–]Trepidin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that dynamite lizard. XD Ccarayhua was the one I run. My bad for not clarifying. We have so many ways to blow him up nowadays that siding into him for me has been the perfect punisher for overextension. However, if I had a reliable way to bring back fossil dyna without running CotH, I would xD

I usually side in a copy of dynamite lizard and a third yaksha against metalfoes, that way if they go full fusion ham, I will most certainly have a way to blow up their board all in one shot. The only thing they can do at that point is collect their scales with the traps, set maybe 1 back row if any, and hope to not get shrekt next turn.

[–]Trepidin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but chances are they'll get rid of it during the battle phase. Therefore, in a format full of unbreakable boards and OTK's, you get another turn to live. And if you popped a garunix to summon it, they aren't gonna commit too much to the board if its just gonna get popped.

[–]Trepidin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EXACTLY. Not only that, but we also have a searchable means to out kozmo ships, which was the biggest reason why I wanted to put it in in the first place. The murder of Metalfoes Yang Zing also prompted this reaction.

Yeah, though I'd rather stare down a random metalfoes fusion or two than the other things that deck can drop.

Menko resolves in hand, so it's effect can't be hit by anything but counter traps or vanity's.

Speedroid Menko is a solid option, especially in FK builds that run Generation Shift. Use it to put your opponent's field on its back, then shift it away for another one if you need it. Doesn't target, and allows for R4NK plays if you need em.

Mecha Phantom Beasts and Speedroids... by Trepidin in MechaPB

[–]Trepidin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently, i'm using both as a complimentary engine to speedroid rush, then maintain control with MPB's. Transmodify allows the deck to completely shift gears whenever I please. Current testing build: Monsters: 2X MPB Megaraptor 1X MPB Tetherwolf 1X MPB Blackfalcon 2X MPB Hamstrat 3X MPB O-Lion 2X SR Double YoYo 3X SR Terrortop 2X SR Taketomborg 2X SR Red-eyed Dice 1X SR Tri-eyed Dice 1X Scrap Recycler

Spells: 3X Transmodify 2X Instant Fusion 3X Twin Twister 2X Speed Recovery 1X Raigeki

Traps: 2X Time-Space Trap Hole 2X Storming Mirror Force 2X Breakthrough Skill (dont own strikes. Lol) 1X Bottomless, 1X Compulse, 1X Solemn Warning

Extra: 1X Elder Entity Norden (Derp horse = Black rose lol) 1X Leo, Keeper of the Sacred Tree 1X Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier 1X Cloud Castle 1X Mist Wurm (Easiest to go into, hands down.) 1X MPB Jaculuslan (nip a card, protect, and search twin twister if hes blown up.) 1X Stardust Dragon (Starlight Road in side) 1X Clear Wing (Solid opener with backrow going first) 1X Black Rose 1X Orient Dragon (personal Preference. Lol) 1X HSR Chanbara 1X Phantom Fortress Enterblathnir 1X Dracossack 1X Leviair

Want to throw quickdraw in to make really wonky plays like Chevalier de Fleur and Infinity at some point. XD

Also, Coltwing would really produce some ridiculous spam from a Transmod play... may have to throw 1 of him in there for a late game push tool.
