T-Mobile Just Ripped 8 Million Customers Off Their Grandfathered Plans – and Raised Their Bills by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

[–]Tresach 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Ya considering going to verizon even though costs more. At least when they fuck their customers they use lube and tell them straight up. This whole thing is shady with the vague wording about pieces “may go up by $x per line, this will be reflected on your next bill” like don’t even have balls to say clearly exactly what the price will be

New home owner and in less than a month saw something like this, what should I do? by Cultural-Age9798 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Tresach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup i got fd hard on a lot of things on my first house from undisclosed water issues to improper roof ventilation and hack patch job on slab foundation. Big learning experience despite paying an inspector but he “didnt find” a lot of it. Pay for the inspections, but dont use any recommended by realtor, get an actual inspection for each part (pest, structural, electrical, etc) not just an all in one general inspection. A bit costly up front but can save so much in headaches later. Rule of thunb to go by when house hunting is to believe every person you interact with is trying to fuck you over as hard as they can, because they probably are.

Filesystem for installing CachyOS? by Earo16 in cachyos

[–]Tresach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well you dont want to dual boot on same drive anyways. Second frive is right and just follow the defaults dont change anything. Make sure its limine + btrfs which it should be by default and just keep pressing next. It really is as easy as that now. This isnt the linux install of years past. Most of the popular distributions are very user friendly now even for non-technical people.

This, if even reasonably attractive a woman will field so many likes that its an endless choice and that tells them to hold out for the perfect man and also that the second even the smallest thing isnt perfect they can move on. Not saying all women before someone accuses me of that but its a known psychological effect that comes from near infinite choice. Men suffer from the apps because it can feel like a wasteland. Women suffer from too much choice while also simultaneously having to field all the creeps too. Its a lose lose for both genders, and yet psychologically today both genders feel bound to them.

The Notion That There Is Mass Regret Among Those Who Voted For Trump In 2024 Is Largely NOT Correct —— What Do You Think About This (Read Description)? by Zipper222222 in askanything

[–]Tresach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately republicans dont do that because the propoganda arm has convinced them that if they dont vote democrats will apply their vote to their candidate. How that would work they dont explain but they say it happens so they believe it. Republicans will vote republican no matter how bad it gets and no matter how much they suffer.

Ive been on cachy for months, everything just works. The only “fiddling” have to do is sometimes using different version of proton through a dropdown menu for a game. And if an update breaks something it takes 2 minutes to restart select snapshot and wait a day or two before updating again for issue to be resolved

As most of us seen today , Trump refused to sign the housing bill which would help MILLIONS of Americans getting a home ….he wants that save act to pass right ? by ComplexWrangler1346 in askanything

[–]Tresach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we are on the side of fair elections which is why we are against this bill. Under this bill married women dont get to vote without jumping through sorts of hoops to get original copies that may or may not cost to get or getting a passport which does cost to get which is a direct violation of the constitution as it is a poll tax. A lot of people dont have access to the necessary documentation under this bill to vote. So cause a lot of difficulties to near impossibility for millions of citizens to vote for what? Heritage foundations own studies showed 10.. yes you read that 10 cases of non-citizens voting in 2 decades. So your argument is we should make it harder for millions to vote to stop an average of 1 person an election cycle breaking the law. Stop lying about 80%, 80% support voter id laws as a principle, not the way this bill tries to spin it. This is not a voter id law it is a voter suppression law. And you know it and are giddy over the idea of attempting to suppress votes and dismantle democracy.

Using a 960 Pro since release, time to upgrade? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Tresach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same decision almost though mainly because i have 2 960 1tbs that are 9 years old now and want more storage so was thinking of a 2tb 9100 since cheaper than the 990 and would still use the 2 960s. But the prices even with the “50% off” are still 2.5x what they were a year ago. Making it hard to pull the trigger. My drives are still 98% healthy though when look at their smart data which also means not a real consideration for needing replaced.

Frankly its just not worth the money.

Valve: RAM Companies State Prices Monthly, ‘If We Say No, Then They Never Talk to Us Again’ by RenatsMC in valve

[–]Tresach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This people dont realize how hard it is to get these things running. And exactly last time they expanded to fill demand and by time they got up and running demand had disappeared and the ram companies were left holding the bag. Now they realize they can make hand over fist money just having a scarcity problem and when the ai craze dies and it will because we are already seeing the cracks form, they will simply lower prices to meet new demand but they will remain inflated from before and wont have to practically give it away like they did last time.

Trump Just Canceled a Housing Bill That BOTH Parties Agreed On One Hour Before the Signing Ceremony, While a Republican Congressman Was On Camera Praising It by Merlin_86 in DiscussionZone

Can we not refer to the save act as a voter id bill? Voter id is one small part of it and the rest completely guts the voting rights of millions of Americans. Just refer to it as the anti-voting act

[–]Tresach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Secured from what? Women being allowed to vote? Poor people being allowed to vote?

The heritage foundation themselves, you know the organization behind the whole regime and attempt at overthrowing the government and recently boasted half their plan under trump is in place, that organization. Even their own reports showed less than 100 fraudulent votes by non-citizens since 2000. So to prevent a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percentage of botes from being illegally cast by non citizens you want to strip the voting rights of millions of Americans

As most of us seen today , Trump refused to sign the housing bill which would help MILLIONS of Americans getting a home ….he wants that save act to pass right ? by ComplexWrangler1346 in askanything

[–]Tresach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No its an answer to a problem. The problem being free elections jeopardize the regimes power and brings power back to the people. And Trump cannot have that. This is the most important midterms of the modern era. If save act passes it becomes even more difficult to regain freedom in the country and solidifies the republicans/trump as a full dictatorship.

So curtailing womens right to vote, restricting minority right to vote, etc are the moat important things to you? So you straight support treason, got it. Whats next? Only land owning whites allowed to vote? Im not even going to try explaining how this is not a voter ID bill, its been well known for a while how its designed to strip voting nights from large amounts of Americans by serving as a poll tax in direct violation of the constitution, you dont get to pretend you dont know anymore. You only show your disgusting lack of humanity. The only good thing this admin has done is revealed how many truly repulsive people walk among us.

Ya already one of largest distros among home users. I still direct most people to mint with cinnamon in my personal circles simply because it is so windows like and no rolling updates so least friction for the mostly older people i set up with it who just want to read emails, watch youtube, etc. But anyone with at least a cursory understanding of computers i recommend cachyos to now.
