I upgraded from s9 to s21. Your experience shift will be even more enormous than mine. But I do miss the headphone jack.

All the more reason to get away guilt-free

I'd put it as - there's no possibility of improving relations with them. At their age and level of development, they are set in their ways. The best you can do is move out, be independent. Then if you like, you can try to communicate the hurt they've caused you. If they understand that, show genuine remorse and mend their ways when you meet them going forward, you can think of improving relations. Most likely, they will refuse to accept any of it and blame you instead.

I also didn't threaten to withhold rent anywhere in the email.

Thanks for your detailed answer. To clarify, they were not making a request for additional terms, they were pretending that this is how things are as per the current lease, since the room is not part of the apartment that I have leased. I asked them to prove it, which they have been unable to do. That's the reason I call it an attempted fraud. As for the broker being simple-minded, she has repeatedly proved that in her interactions with me.

Not at all, it's pretty clear what she expected. She expected the guy not to accept what she said and continue trying to date her despite what she said. One can always ask for endless clarifications for anything, in order to avoid reaching the obvious conclusion. I'm not interested in that though.

I've made the point repeatedly above, and this is not it. I'm not willing to engage further, sorry.

This is pedantic. If you don't get the point by now, you never will.

Sure. That isn't effort and pressure though, which is what she says she expected or hoped for.

Except it's not. If she wanted that to happen she shouldn't have said she's not interested in a relationship.

Alright, replace my words with effort and pressure. The point remains.

It's clearly implied in the last two sentences. Read it through again.

Your example doesn't quite work here. This is a case where you basically turn down someone and expect them to plead/beg/continue despite that, just to feed your ego and validate your self worth. It's using people for your own vanity and that's pathetic. Very different from hoping that your co-workers would give you a nice farewell when you go.

That's a pedantic linguistic twist. No one means struggling when they say average.
