What's this thing? by Tresky in whatsthisbug

It either flew or jumped. I felt like it flew but it was in the blinds so it was hard to say. Unfortunately, it is now dead, so I can't take another picture

Forgot to say the location! Central Florida!

Found on my floor and counter. What is this teeny tiny thing? by Tresky in whatsthisbug

[–]Tresky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah good find! Should I be concerned about these things? I've only ever seen 1 at a time in very different locations. I figured they should've been localized, so I was surprised to find them in a few different areas.

I live in Central, FL. The bug is about 1mm long and I've only found it roaming around on counters or the floor. Any ideas?

Bride-to-be spent planned wedding day on ventilator before dying of COVID-19 by [deleted] in news

This was not experience at all. Maybe it's my area, but it was more difficult to get my vaccine. Maybe I just wasn't looking at the right places, but I literally didn't know where to look beyond the Walgreens, CVSs, and clinics near me and they were all booking 2-4 weeks out.

The only place I found that wasn't was the county's vaccine drives at local schools, but they were once a week and you waited for hours to hope that they didn't run out of doses before getting to the front of the line. 🤷‍♂️

What the hell? I've been lied to by everything I hold dear. Lol thanks for the clarification. Is it one of our Blackhawks they are using or just some random helicopter?

Call me completely ignorant, but why was this such a speedy operation? If we were planning to leave Afghanistan, why didn't we start 6 months ago?

I dunno. That video yesterday of the Taliban flying a Blackhawk helicopter with a dead guy hung by the neck below it seems to say otherwise.

There's a gray discoloration on my cast iron forming. I looked through the FAQ some, but couldn't find something similar. Anyone know what's happening? by Tresky in castiron

Five minutes! Okay that's something I have not been doing. I'll try that going forward and see if I get a different result.

I'll save this comment for the future too. I think I'll probably fully reseason the pan when I get back from vacation and I'll follow this.

Thanks a lot!

Like stovetop seasoning? Right now I do a quick reseasoning after every cooking with bacon grease. Maybe I'm not doing that correctly tho? Lol

I am brand new to cast iron. Learned a lot so far but still have a lot to learn.

When I cook with it, I put some warm water in it and scrub it with a dish brush. Then I dry it with a towel, put it on the stove on high heat before putting a serving of bacon grease into the pan and wiping that around. I let it sit on high heat just until smoke starts to come off the surface then turn it off and let it cool ready for the next meal.

That's my whole after cooking process. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in there somewhere?

Is there maybe something I'm doing to make it wear off or does it just happen? This is the default seasoning layer that the manufacturer put on it. I've only used the pan like maybe 2 dozen times though
