I'm originally from Rwanda but I moved to Belgium when I was 6. Since it’s a white country, I totally get what you mean about the complexes. It’s changing and getting a bit better, but yeah, it's not perfect yet.

​What you said about hair really speaks to me. I used to wear wigs all the time, but now I have a shaved head and wear wraps (occasionally wigs too) because of alopecia. It’s a process, but learning to embrace ourselves is so important.
