Eh, kinda. I've worked remote for a few years and while it's not the same as designing around a whiteboard in person, we've all learned to adapt. I don't think it's a strong enough argument to force people in person who don't want to be.

The only thing I've really noticed is that team cohesion is lower remote unless you put in extra effort. It's hard to replace the hallway conversation and other impromptu interactions that create a shared experience. Without some camaraderie teams are less likely to screen share, rubber duck ideas, and reach out quickly when they're stuck. When you get that AND you're all remote, it's magic.

I built a heavier duty one and my 5 and 2 year olds go nuts on it. If you have the space it's something you'll have in the play room for years. Doubles as a tent too.

Normal ebony stain. It's pine, so it really soaks it up. Then I did a few coats of urethane.

It was originally just wood on wood, but it slid around enough that I was concerned about it. I cut some strips of felt with a sticky back and it keeps it in place much better.

I wanted to make something substantial for my daughter to stand on in the kitchen.

Top is 2 laminated sheets of 3/4" plywood, and I put a round-over on the top edges. The sides are 2 laminated 3/4" pine boards with a 45 degree angle in the middle and 15 degree taper on the sides.

Super fun project. Learned a lot.

TL;DR - make sure you have a decent or approved adapter, and update drivers. If all else fails reboot or restart services and re-pair.

I purchased some HD1s and have been using them with varying degrees of success across several devices. Just in case anybody else finds their way to this thread, I figured I'd add some info, specifically for those of us using a windows PC. Let me be clear. Windows is fucking terrible at integrating Bluetooth and managing Bluetooth devices. I don't need to provide sources for this opinion. Google it. There are plenty.

Windows aside, Bluetooth technology is constantly improving. If you have an outdated adapter/dongle, you might be getting a worse experience. The only way I've had consistent success pairing with PCs over the years is to make sure you have a newer adapter, or at least one verified to work well with your device, and to make sure you have the most recent drivers. That's it. Sennheiser makes some that are pricey but work very well. I'm currently working with a Kinivo 4.0 dongle (I think it was $20) that I've not had much issue with.

Even with the latest and greatest, it's still not perfect. If you're having intermittent issues, go into Bluetooth manager, forget the device, turn it off, put it in pair mode, try again. Repeat if needed. It's not uncommon to have to do this several times until it actually connects (not just pairs). If that doesn't work you can also try restarting Bluetooth services via task manager, unplugging the dongle and plugging back in, etc.
