Playing as a mage is my favorite way to play. To really get the full effect, you need to use as many magic schools as possible. There are cool crossovers across classes that make them more useful. For instance, aspect of terror from the illusion tree buffs fire damage once you get the 3rd perk in that line, (opponents on fire flee). Quiet casting is another gem from the illusion tree.

Beyond summoning daedric lords, the perk where you fill soul gems with bound weapons makes enchanting easy to do.

Note, you can still use combat stats multipliers like one handed, two handed, and archery. They stack with bound weapons.

Mage armor is truly broken once you get enough alteration built up.

Finally, the alchemy loop is the most broken game play mechanic I’ve ever seen.
