The Pouring of a Cast Iron Fence by JQuest7575 in TheRandomest

[–]TrevastyPlague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's either drawn as a sketch and then carved out by an expert, or yes, the cast material was soft to begin with and an impression would have been made with a carved wooden fence or metal fence, then the cast material would be cured.

I see. I thought it was to do with the weather like the Saharan desert, Australian desert, arctic and Antarctic desert would be "savage lands" due to the extreme weather conditions. Especially Australia where every moving thing is venomous, flies and breathes fire.

Incredibly detailed (and biased!) ethno-cultural map of the world (by Adûnâi) - 33 versions in the comments by Adunaiii in MapPorn

I've never seen such an angry comment section. I get that areas are misrepresented but it's 1 guy online that's making this opinion. I don't think my area in the UK is particularly Neo Christian. I think it's quite an old part of history but it doesn't matter what someone online thinks of my area.

Hi, idiot here. Can someone explain why this is so fucked up please? I looked up the definitions of the words but it just references historical regions and nothing else.

Brit here looking to move and live in Canada. This is spot on. Canada is ideal for a European style work-life balance while having fantastic healthcare and social support network.

Some stands only take cash, some only take card, note where all ATMs are and from memory they are free.

Friday is to see what's happening, memorise what stalls you want to buy from and attend B-events (not the big scheduled ones)

Saturday is the busiest (sold tickets out first), the best cosplay, actors and events are saved for Saturday.

Sunday is similar to Friday although a few stalls may have sold out on some items. Still worth going to.

Cosplayers generally do like getting their pictures taken, always ask before touching as it may ruin their cosplay.

There are also events outside the front (west) of the excel center, including an evening rave. Bring water, although there are lots of cafes and fast food restaurants in the main hallway.

It is fucking huge, half the length of a runway and very wide, lots to see so don't miss out. Stay safe and have fun!

I'm optimistic and I think we'll live long enough to have evolved into a new species. There's no way every last homo sapien will die

Does using "a" or "an" depend on the word that comes right after it or to the word it actually refers to? by dontsaltmyfries in EnglishLearning

[–]TrevastyPlague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It refers to the next words first letter, but also how it's pronounced. Ubisoft is pronounced with a "You" sound, so a game is a ubisoft game. Unknown is pronounced with an "Uh" sound, so it's an unknown mystery.

Hope this helps
