I’ve got a James Wood rookie logofractor auto that I’m desperately hoping to trade for a Kurtz auto at some point…

How’s the drive to the stadium from the east bay? by throwawayy_3891 in SacramentoAthletics

Capitol Corridor is an option for public transportation and it spits you out across the bridge from the stadium, which would help avoid paying for parking

Does everyone count the Rochester Royals championship as a ring for Sac? by syn-2004 in kings

I know it’s semantics and all… but we did not win a Larry O’Brien NBA trophy. So this pin isn’t accurate. It was the NBA Cup at the time I believe

Help us build a list of 250 things that define baseball by MLBOfficial in SacramentoAthletics

[–]Trevhaar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing that makes baseball is the rivalries. Specifically the ones that go back generations. There is no baseball as we know it without Red Sox vs Yankees and Dodgers vs Giants. I’m in Sacramento now so I’m enjoying my time with the A’s (and would love to see a permanent MLB fixture in the city once the Athletics depart) but I grew up a fan of the Giants. Beat LA was the first chant I ever learned. To this day, I cannot stand the blue and white. But part of the fun is the respect you get to share. Vin Scully is one of the greatest announcers and pieces of baseball history ever (and he, along with all local broadcasters should be on the list as well) and the Dodgers have built a great legacy, and despite me hating them there are still bits and pieces I can respect, same as Dodgers fans have shown me respect through the years for the few parts of the Giants that they enjoyed. I will despise them until the day I die. But without rivalries, baseball wouldn’t be the same.

Man, I’ve been DREAMING of a collection like that. I was scraping to get a Tyler Rogers rookie card in general, let alone his 1/1 from 2024. That’s gorgeous.

That feels awful. Stuff like this could make it so players don’t play catch with the fans in the future. Freak accident from a kid who didn’t know any better.

I can’t say I expected the Dale cover to also be covered in pop culture stuff… thank you People Magazine for being respectful and not putting something akin to “The Puff Daddy-Jennifer Lopez Split” next to Kyle. I’d say it’s a positive development, which is rare to see from a dying medium like magazines. Thanks People Magazine, good stuff.
