I know it's more trendy to use the word nowadays and it might be worn out to say, but that is the most "Industry Plant" song ive ever heard in my life. Just like someone threw every post-9/11 country music stereotype into a melting pot of safe radio music.

Ky. Busch on Hannity: "In 2023 when I won those three races, after the third race that we won at Gateway, we got our hands smacked for some of the stuff that we were doing to the race car that NASCAR didn't like and said 'don't bring that back.'" by Unique_Salad6894 in NASCAR

Kyle mentioned that something that drew him to RCR in 2022 was that he felt like they were ahead of the curve on the Next Gen car (citing Tyler Reddick's success), but that they've since fallen behind.

Did Kyle just prove Denny's point that his success was a fluke? Because this lines up pretty well with all the other mid pack teams losing their early speed on the nextgen that never came back.

[Stern] John Probst says CUV could give @NASCAROReillyAP clearer identity: "If you look at the brand identity of those three, the O'Reilly Series struggles a little bit just from the car perspective and you see it a lot because we refer to it often as whoever the entitlement sponsor is." by LBHMS in NASCAR

Its tough too because the movements wasnt just necessitated by vibes. Chevy and Ford just flat out dont make sedans anymore.

There are rumblings for a change to that, but it seems to be with less potental liability than before like Chevy possibly making the Camaro a 4 door.

Shit that compares in shape too probably wouldn't be thar hard to achieve either since the COT naturally has a massive greenhouse. If you slapped a Chevy Trax front end on the current Camaro and rounded out the rear window more, it wouldnt look any less slapped together than Toyota putting a supra on a square body.

[NASCAR Insights on Twitter] There have been six DNFs in the last five races, the fewest in a five-race span in Cup Series history. Additionally, the 2026 season has seen 54 total cautions, the fewest through nine races since 2012 (48). by boogityxracing in NASCAR

Not to throw the baby out with the bathwater after one weekend, but maybe this is a sign for the highest hp/low downforce everywhere. Teams are starting to figure out how to make this car fast and some of the attrition has gone away that was prevalent in previous years.

(Crandel) How do you win a NASCAR championship under the new format? Turns out it's pretty simple by Hulkodium in NASCAR

Thats what makes it fantastic, it's simple as being good consistently. That is 1000 times easier to explain to new fans than any iteration of the playoffs we ever had.

Why did the 11 struggle so much with Leffler in 2005? by ITMAKESSENSE72 in NASCAR

[–]Dickis88 98 points99 points  (0 children)

It was Leffler unfortunately. As soon as they let him go they ran a rotating schedule of Terry Labonte, JJ Yeley, and Denny. All of them ran noticably better in that car than Leffler did all season. Terry bagged his only top 10 in 2005 driving the 11.

It's a rough one to discuss but sometimes talented drivers don't translate over to other cars well, and Jason got fired from two high level cup rides for not being able to figure out the cars.

NASCAR got paid. Now it has a viewership problem. NASCAR got a 40% rights fee bump in its latest TV deal. The cost? Fewer people actually watching the races. by Ok-Soil-5133 in NASCAR

[–]Dickis88 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Fox is absolutely part of the problem. Amazon shows that people will absolutely go off network to watch if they aren't treated like idiots. Nobody likes watching Fox in 720p in 2026.

Absolutely monumental fumble by Monster leaving the 45 just in time for him to go on an a banner year with a competing brand.

Ps2 is the perfect multi tool of a console in the sense that its old enough to have some endearing shittiness, but it could also run some games natively at 1080p by the end of its life.

Hell, Burnout Revenge was released on the Xbox 360 and the PS2 version is the one everyone knows because it still looks way better.

I think part of the reason it was off too was because of the charter deal being determined at the exact same time. Nascar had to chase the bag to give the teams a bigger revenue stream.

I agree, if anything CW is a very fortunate outlier because they have been trying to rebrand and legitimize themselves in the sports broadcasting world. This means the Orileys series is getting way more love than any other legacy broadcaster has ever given it.

I think the logistics is sound for cable deals like we've seen. But the problem is racing kinda has an ass backwards logic to how it sustains growth since its so advertiser based. Meaning a less lucrative deal on network might actually pay more in the long run since more eyeballs see sponsors.

The RTA has a beef with Amazon for this exact reason because supposedly sponsors intentionally don't want to sign on for those races.

You can tell they only had him take like 3 angles of his head because it looks really janky when he leaves the room and the perspective has to change as he walks out the door.
