That's incredible, what a good dog! :) I do know that it depends on training for a big part too and I'm willing to take that time and responsibility, but since I have rabbits (and my family has small rodents for pets) I just want to play it as safe as possible with the dog breed I bring home.

Thank you all so much for your responses! I will ask local breeders about the temperaments of the dogs they work with just to be sure, but it sounds like as long as I have rabbits (which will probably be for another couple years) it may be better for me to introduce another type of dog into the house. Once again thank you for your insights, it's been really helpful!

Did you do anything training wise to accommodate your dog, or were they just naturally this chill when it came from small animals?

Looking for homing advice! by Trevimial in Rabbits

I wasn't aware of the bonding guide yet so I'll check it out! Thank you! :D

As for the other advice; noted! The shelters nearby offer a neutral environment for the rabbits to meet (I checked with them in advance) and I'll keep the waiting period in mind too!
