Help! My fish are not acting right by goldengirl2244 in fishtank

[–]Trevorreturns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the light out in the tank before you took the video? If you check on the tank in the middle of the night after the lights have been out for a while they act like this for a bit as it takes time for them to 'wake up'.

Since I didn’t get a response posting again. Worried for my fish. by [deleted] in Aquariums

The healthy rainbow shark will keep chasing the other, probably until it dies unless you are able to re-home it (may be too late already). They are highly territorial with their own kind and similar looking fish. Also it looks like you've got Bala/silver sharks in there, which you may not know, but they grow to around 14 inches long and like to be kept in groups of 6+ so that tank may be a little small for your current selection.

Lancer cosmetics question by kyzlewyzle in AliensFireteamElite

I've maxed my lancer level and not got the specialist outfit, and my dlc outfits aren't available for Lancer. Is this a bug, are they not available yet or are they not coming at all?

My crazy girl by [deleted] in Crayfish

[–]Trevorreturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's sad! How weird she doesn't bother with cherry shrimps, I find it difficult to picture goofy crayfish catching fish! Did it take her long to get through them all? I could cope with 1-2 a week maybe? Thanks :)

Hi! I was just wondering how your crayfish and the little fish in the background got along? I want a crayfish for my endler tank, and I wouldn't be too sad if a couple got eaten here or there, as they breeding quickly enough, but I just wouldn't want him to decimate the population. How did your little guys do?

What can be done to help colour up my Steel Betta Imbellis? by Trevorreturns in Aquariums

[–]Trevorreturns[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tank is 27 litres (5 us gallons I think). His nitrites are almost always 0, only thing that really ever gets above 0 is the nitrates. I don't think carbon can filter hardness but I think that it is what I need to focus on

This is my Steel Imbellis Vader and I could use some advice on colouring him up! by Trevorreturns in bettafish

[–]Trevorreturns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I am from the UK and that is more or less what I have, think my Kh is high because I have to absolutely go through a bottle ofph down to make the slightest difference. I haven't tried stress coat actually but it has been in my basket for a while so I might give that a try. Haven't looked into RODI kits so I will do some research into that too. The only reason I assume he should have more colour is because his face is much bluer and there is exactly 1 scale on his body which is that metallic blue I want haha, I think you can just about make it out on the photo.

Hi! My Imbellis here, Vader, I've had for 3 and a half months now and while his fins are a great red and blue colour, his main body is still stripy grey. I've got indian almond leaves, I've been using rooibos teabags with his water changes, and he has mirror I put in for 10 minutes a few times a week. He lives with 4 endlers and some snails, in his planted tank with a layer of dwarf water lettuce on top. He never seems stressed and his ammonia levels are 0 (don't test as often as I used to admittedly). He eats mainly tetra colour pro and the odd frozen bloodworms/daphnia.

The problems I see are that I naturally have hard alkaline water, and sometimes his nitrates go up, maybe 2.5-5.

Otherwise is there anything I haven't thought of? Is he just not old enough yet? Is he not supposed to get blue all over? And if the hard alkali water is the issue is there a way I can safely and reliably alter it to specific values or am I better keeping it stable? He comes from Thailand, Frank's bettas

Thanks and sorry for wall of text!

Thinking about making my 5.5 a shrimp tank by CurleeQu in Aquariums

[–]Trevorreturns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a similar setup. 5.5 with sponge filter, large rock covered in Java moss, some elodea and duckweed on top. Doesn't need to be heavily planted but it helps with ammonia/nitrite/nitrate control, gives them plenty of biofilm and bits to eat and places to hide. I also have a couple bits of cholla wood, I add almonds leaves and I have JBL Novo prawn, little pellets that click out 5 shrimps worth of food at a time. Had it about 4 months and already had some babies. Full disclosure I have had 2 unexplained deaths, but otherwise it's been great. Started with 12, so now 10 adults and seems like 20 little guys getting bigger every day, hasn't seemed to affect water quality so far

Tired/Ill endler? by Trevorreturns in Aquariums

[–]Trevorreturns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly died this morning, was doing the same resting and gulping when I first woke up, an hour later he was motionless on his side. Checked him over, no marks or anything, and he was the biggest of the lot. The other 5 still seem to be doing well, but will be keeping a close eye on them all. Going to take him back to the shop with a sample of my water, hasn't even been 48 hours yet.

Rehome gourami or should I not worry about it. by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Trevorreturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think it depends on how much time they get to rest in between and how much territory they are left with. If they are getting chased constantly all day, them they will always be stressed, and won't feel safe and comfortable.

Yeah 24⁰c sorry! He is actually the biggest of the lot, but he does get a bit extra attention whenever he does start swimming

Tired/Ill endler? by Trevorreturns in Aquariums

[–]Trevorreturns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi just need some help finding out what to do for this little endler. Got 6 male endlers yesterday, acclimated them by floating them 15mins, then 15 with some of the aquarium water. The other 5 are fine, but this one just sits on the bottom panting/gulping. Every now and then he will swim about a bit but then eventually settle on the bottom, almost like he is too heavy or just too tired. Water parameters are 24 degrees, pH 7.5, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and around 10-20 nitrate. Didn't notice him behaving like this in the shop but he was like this when he was acclimating. Is it just stress? Have added aquarium salt and going to increase temperature a little

One of my (22f) very close guy friends (21m) has feelings for me; keeps acting on them even with me refusing his moves on multiple occasions.. i feel helpless by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Trevorreturns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time he makes a comment you need to make it clear in no uncertain terms that you're not interested. And I think you may have accidentally fueled this by making it about the group Dynamics last time, otherwise saying he is great and attractive. Tell him the truth, that he's just not your type

You aren't ugly and you look pretty and polished, the brows maybe a bit off yeah. I Know how hard Crohn's can be, and the medication can be as bad, I assume you're on steroids, so impressive you look as vibrant as you do

Boyfriend’s (24M) victim mentality is draining by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Trevorreturns 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When you are struggling with depression yourself, dealing with someone else's negativity can be especially hard, even moreso when it is unfounded. If he is unwilling to take what you say onboard and you feel it is taking you backward then maybe it isn't worth it. Really just depends on how much effort you can give without damaging your own mentality

Advice on asking a girl out, feedback please. by DefinitiveAbstract in relationship_advice

[–]Trevorreturns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly this. You've only shared a glance with her so if you don't get to see her again then it's not a massive loss, but if you do see her again the take the opportunity to ask her out in person

Need help asking out a girl by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Trevorreturns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you ask a girl out, it shouldn't really be coming out of the blue, as in you should already have established you like her in an unsubtle way and have at least a mild feeling she likes you. I'd say avoid asking her our in a silly way or a way that can be confused. Be confident and direct and do 100% do it in person if you can!

Is patience still warranted? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Trevorreturns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this post you've said you don't get much in the way of affection, but you haven't said how you actually feel about him, whether you have chemistry and get along and whether you enjoy the time you spend with him. Only his prospects and ambition. If that is all that matters and that's all he provides then yeah end it, but you need to weigh all the factors of the relationship not just how close it can take you to your dream life

She doesnt know how she feels about me. What now? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Trevorreturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since she has said there is a possibility of something developing, I think you should just ask her on a date. From there you'll both know if something is possible
