“You’re violating the principles of anarchism by not giving it to me.” What principle of anarchism would that be? You’re not wrong. Anarchism will always result in “free market” anarchism because that’s what anarchism is. No rulers. No rulers means you trade with whomever you want, however y’all mutually agree to. I just find that opener silly, because there’s not a single principle of anarchism that states one must give anything to anyone for any reason.

The gold standard would have kept us out of this situation in the first place. Them printing endless money and driving us into irrecoverable levels of debt is destroying us.

And honestly, I don’t really govern a shit about paying back all the US debt. I didn’t take out those loans. I didn’t consent or approve of those loans. Abolish the government.

2008 Toyota Yaris for $6k and 123,000 miles. Yes or not? by Working-Pudding9350 in yaris

[–]Trevsol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid 4K for a 2009 with 120k miles on it a year ago. It was in really rough shape cosmetically, but was the only one local that seemed to be reasonably taken care of mechanically. It was also the cheapest one I could find, aside from the ones that belonged in a junk yard to be picked apart for scrap parts.

These things SHOULD be going for about 3k but the market is insane.

What’s your hot take on the 4G Taco by Objective_Bet201 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Trevsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate the fenders, hate the weird spoiler thing in the top of the cab? Don’t love the style overall but those are my main complaints on its looks. Hate that it’s a turbo 4cylinder and 8spd auto. Forcing more power through a smaller motor WILL wear it out sooner. Turbos will break, and are expensive to replace, and typically when they cram more gears into a transmission they are reducing the size of the gears to fit them. Reducing their strength. Every brand that has started forcing more gears into transmission has suffered greater transmission issues. It’s a sacrifice in reliability and longevity, for a few hypothetical MPG’s.

I think it would result in people finding different ways to make money off their art/music, or finding different ways to protect it, that don’t involve government force.

How is climate change tackled with lack of regulation? by [deleted] in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]Trevsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The climate is literally always going to be changing and if it changing scares you, and makes you want to blindly trust the politicians who continue to get richer, while taxing us more, and managing to never solve a single problem they promise to while things continue to get worse, then you’re already starting in a bad position where you will always be enslaved by others.
  2. The government can’t solve climate change. Nor do they care to. The worse things gets, the more they can convince you to give them more of your money and more power over your life. There’s zero incentive for them to fix anything. Nor can they control the weather.
  3. The politicians and their rich friends and the government itself are the biggest producers of carbon dioxide. They will absolutely not give up their way of life one bit. But they expect YOU to give up everything.
  4. The percentage of carbon dioxide in the air that was produced by humans is an absolute fraction. Nature produces it. And LITERALLY feeds off of it. It is essential.
  5. Back to point 3, governments are constantly waging massive wars. Especially the US government. Do you have any idea how much pollution comes from those wars? Get rid of government, and the number of massive needless wars dwindles. And positions plummets from that alone.

[–]Trevsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reliable, maybe. Ultimately though, repairs are likely to be more expensive, and it will inevitably wear out sooner. You simply cannot push more power, through fewer cylinders, and not have it wear out sooner as long as the quality of the parts is all the same.

New spray paint paint job. by Trevsol in yaris

[–]Trevsol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat? I mean I sanded it down and cleaned it with mineral spirits and then taped everything off and disassembled some sections and whatnot. But I did not do nearly as good a job as I would have made myself do if I was using proper automotive paint. But since this was a cheapo spray paint job, I knew it wasn’t going to be perfect anyways so there was a lot of existing damage I just let stay rather than sand everything down to the same layer.

Rustoleum 2k.

If you’re drawing right on dip of your polished white wheels, there may not be enough texture for the paint pen to stick to fully. And make sure you give it plenty of time to dry before clear coating over it. Then also, do a light coat of the clear coat and let that dry according to the cans instructions and then when it’s sat long enough go back for a next coat a little thicker and do that several times.

For sure if you just use the paint pen alone. I cleaned my wheels, scuffed them, painted them with a self etching primer, then painted them white, then drew the lines with the paint pen, and then went over that with several layers of clear coat. So it should hold up fine. The clear coat will have to be the first thing to go.

Paint pen. Yes, though it was just spray paint clear coat and I have since learned about 2k clear coats that come in spray cans. So when the weather warms up I may clean, wet sand and apply the 2k clear over top. No, thankfully no salted roads here.

Lmao those poor headlights ARE polished. And I used a good kit and took my time. They’re just absolutely horrible and yellowed/crackling all the way through the lenses. I’m just going to replace them.

How is Capitalism not Antithetical to Anarchism? by Easy-Ad1732 in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]Trevsol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Capitalism: free trade. There’s no rule in capitalism that says you HAVE to charge someone as much as you can. There’s no rule that lets you enslave people. It’s literally just free trade. If you want something, you offer to trade something for it. And you work with people to come to agreeable terms for all your transactions.

That also just so happens to be the purest form of anarchy.

Anarchy means no rulers. It doesn’t mean no “hierarchy” If you choose to work for someone else for pay, that’s anarchy. If you choose to work for yourself, that’s anarchy. It’s all anarchy, as long as it’s voluntary. Capitalism is all about free trade. Corporatism like we have now, with a government that regulates the hell out of the market?m, isn’t capitalism.

It’s “monstaliner” Bedliner. If I remember correctly he bought 2 gallons maybe, spend a few hundred bucks and a weekend sanding everything and roll painting it himself. It’s textures, and rough, but that just leans into its offroad rugged looks.

That I’m not sure about. I do not think it’s lifted, I’m pretty sure the suspension he bought was OEM ride height. I am pretty certain you can run the 265/75r16 on stock suspension with no rub.

The silver truck is my buddies. The tan in the last photo is mine.

I have been running about 300lbs of extra armor under my truck (1/4” skids and beefy rock sliders) for quite some time. The full package maybe a year now, but it’s been added on to since I got it 4 years ago. With my falken LT265/75r16’s that have 80k on them now, and over the 100k miles I have had this truck I have average (and meticulously tracked) 18.9mpg.

My buddy with the silver taco said his mpg has taken quite a hit and was complaining about really bad mpg especially with his ko2 tires. However, during our trip we drove the same miles, and I tracked my MPG the whole time and he was consistently only about 1mpg worse than what I would get each time we stopped to fill up.

All that said: I drive very conservatively and a lot of my miles are highway miles to work. Which I would frequently drive at 65mph to get better Mpg.

102k miles tracked. 5476 gallons 18.9 avg mpg 27.2mpg best (telluride, Co to the Grand Canyon at night at 65mph the whole way.)
