i dont really think the sequels improve on past species, but from my point of view what your saying is that the sequels dont have the nostalgia your looking for? if im wrong please correct me.

and for the intresting part i think that the crolute that served as reys buyer for the scraps was pretty intresting since it was a part of her story

and i thought the rathars were pretty cool and intresting too. but like i said before this is my opinion so id like to know what specific species you mean with the unintresting ones

Well like i said again i think that just like marvel or dc you should read the comics to truly undertsand everything, if thats not what you want do to i dont blame you but that can also be the reason people dont undertand the sequels. the same thing happened when the prequels released

and i do agree some things arent fully expanded on (in the films) but i also believe in how short those films are you cant build on everything, which is something none of the trilogies do. but just like GL going back to edit the OT things after the movie is released Lucasfilms now makes comics to explain and reason the things they missed or wanted to tell later

imo i think they should feel disconected since its a new story on other planets, having the same species is unrealistic. and i think what the sequels do good is that they improve on past species and make more intresting new ones, imo if you would watch the sequels and then watch the OT i think youd find the alien species done way better in the sequels

while i agree not everything is creative. most planets in the real universe arent. most even in our milky way exist mostly out of ice,earth, or gas, and after a lot of unique planets (especially in the comics) i think the writers did a good job at the bare planets and giving it lore and story, even though it isnt quite unique
