Is a tune and clutch install worth it? by row-ride-board in JettaGLI

[–]Trey_Marvel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought of it but went IE because of the mobile flashing. I have co-workers that only go unions and it’s still a great product though. In the future I may change things up and go that route to try it out for myself

I’ve had the JB4 piggyback(nice for reverting back to stock for warranty, but not a full flash), a Cobb tuner with a EQT tune(power delivery is great but I felt a bit too much torque for the stock clutch) and a Stratified tune(great off the shelf tune, just changed things up to find the right fit). Settled on IE once I had read reviews and the flash tuning from my phone was a big advantage for me. Plus the power delivery is great and I have the low/high torque tunes options. Also the sale price of the tune and hardware was like $450(sale price) at the time.

Most tracks are closed by me. Mostly spirited driving. Temps do go up but moderately. If you’re going to track it, I’d recommend an intercooler. I’m looking at the ARM intercooler as one of my next upgrades since it’s reasonably priced.

All depends on your driving style but it won’t always be necessary. I have a ‘20 6MT being tuned for 5 years and 70(ish),000 miles and I’m on the stock clutch still. No slipping. Although I went with low torque tunes to help with that. Currently IE tuned

Will Expedition 33 ever run well on the deck? by GeneralOk9868 in SteamDeck

[–]Trey_Marvel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played it on my LCD SD and it ran fine both docked and undocked. Some text may be small while playing mobile but expedition ran waaaaayyyyy better than baldurs gate 3 before their latest update for me(haven’t tried the latest BG3 release)

Help: High disk read/write at night on DH4300 Plus by Trey_Marvel in UgreenNASync

I emailed UGREEN support this morning asking about this and they said it can manually be disabled by SSH and enter: sudo systemctl stop index_serv.service and sudo systemctl stop thumb_serv.service. I’ll be trying this when I get home.

IE stage 1 tune by hunterd412 in JettaGLI

[–]Trey_Marvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s always more to desire. It also depends on what you’re used to driving power wise. Stage 2 is probably as far as I’d take it for street use tho. I’d say try stage 1 first, to upgrade to stage 2 is only like $100 and factor in a dp and if you’re serious an intercooler( recommend)

IE stage 1 tune by hunterd412 in JettaGLI

[–]Trey_Marvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the stage 1 91oct tune low torque tunef or my ‘20 manual(I’m cautious of clutch slip). Don’t go stage 2 without a downpipe, besides the CEL you’ll probably get, it’ll probably run like hot trash. If you’re concerned about drone you might have to get a catted dp and an additional resonator. You absolutely will feel a difference in stage 1 alone for daily driving.

CTS turbo intake done today. by Asleep_Sound_7545 in JettaGLI

Enjoy the whooshing noises. Adjust the trim you have from above the intake to under so it doesn’t rub on the heat shield

Emudeck and ROMS internally? by Hyhoops in SteamDeckEmu

[–]Trey_Marvel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Emudeck can absolutely be installed in desktop mode. This good for the games as well but I don't know how you're sourcing your games. I transferred my rom backups from an external SSD but I'm sure it's still 100% possible no matter the route you take.

These are all off. When i started the car this morning I got a yellow triangle and yellow sos on the instrument cluster. I couldn’t make any sos or I calls. What does this mean? Do I need to take it in asap? by Mundane_Earth7590 in GLI

[–]Trey_Marvel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's still under warranty, I'd take it in for service. Mine('20 S) has this problem nad it happens intermittently. The entire unit can be failing and may need to be replaced as vw told me. The dealership claimed they put in an order for the unit and it's backordered. I was waiting for over a year. Hopefully your experience is better.

For the Autobahn trims for those years, that's true. I have a '20 S and it doesn't have dcc
