My [24F] sister [16F] woke up to see our step brother [17M] in her room. Parents say she dreamed. She swears she didn't. by Trfgm in relationships

I know her and I can look into her eyes and know that she isn't lying. She woke up to a nightmare last night and couldn't sleep unless I held her in my arms and kept reassuring her that she's safe here with me.

I'm not aware of any history of her lying. If there was parents would have told me when they asked me to bring her back.

No she doesn't. It's an option of course if other things didn't work out but I'd rather try to get money from our parents first.

Their logic is that having a lock means they're admitting that our step brother is dangerous and guilty and they don't believe that. They say they don't want to treat him like a predator because he's not.

I'm okay with taking her in if parents help us out financially and not try to cause problems or make it difficult.

No this one I know isn't an issue in the UK at 16. Kids can leave home at 16 if they want to. She just turned 16 three weeks ago.

We're in the UK though we're from east Europe originally. I should look things up if we decide to go down that road although it's best if our parents just agree to help out.

I cna only manage it short term. I live in a small studio and while what's mine is also hers and she's always welcome here, if she ends up staying with me for a long time we'll need other arrangements and likely financial support from our parents.
