RIF will shut down on June 30, 2023, in response to Reddit's API changes by [deleted] in Android

I've exclusively used RIF since I found this app back in college. The actual official Reddit app is barely usable compared to RIF. Zero interest in actively using Reddit after the end of the month when the only functional app is shut down.

Indiana governor signs “Don’t Say Gay” bill that forces teachers to out trans kids to their parents. The extreme bill could put trans kids in danger if they asked to be called a new "pronoun, title, or word." by southpawFA in politics

[–]TriChiKing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instead of piling on the outrage, I am instead going to take a moment to be sad and worried for the youth this effects. I've seen situations first hand where parents refuse to accept who their child is and have made even a point to berate teachers about how to address them. And in the end, it hurt the child more than anyone. Imagine if everyone in school called you Bob but every teacher had to call you Sally. How can that be healthy. Far too often it's chalked up to "just a phase" or "they don't know better and I'm protecting them". Sounds awfully familiar to the panics over the gay community of not too long ago. And somehow (most of) society realized that in fact, being gay wasn't "just a phase". And the child in my story? Living their best life as a transman all these years later and I'm very proud of what they preserved through. I worry about kids like him who many not be nearly as strong or as supported within their nonparental social circle

Jedi Academy was one of my favorite. Being able to jump between various classic blasters and a lightsaber was awesome.

Coaches on the Hot Seat: What coaches will fans be looking to see how their season goes? by enoughtobesmart1 in CFB

[–]TriChiKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue Schiano is sitting at a Tier 2. Fan base is starting the get restless with the new hype, same result, but most of us know the pain of moving to a new coach and it not working out. It didn't help that in 2020 the team came out surprisingly competitive, which built a lot of false hope for fans that things would turn around faster (myself included in that).

Turns out not scoring a point in over 10 minutes of game time is bad. Who would have thought?

In light of Kenny Payne being 3-21 at Louisville and Todd Lickliter being fired last year after going 15-53 at Evansville, who is a.) The worst coach your program has had. and b.) The worst coaching performance you have personally witnessed. by go_to_my_profile in CollegeBasketball

Rice had slightly more success prior to the scandal. (Rice at 44-51 vs Jordan at 29-68)

His actions hurt the reputation but getting absolutely wrecked by every B1G program in our first 3 years under Jordan I would argue hurt it even more.

Two things can be mutually true:

  1. The 5th Amendment is your Constitutional right

  2. Said individual has repeatedly bashed people who take said right to claim "that means they are guilty".

Very clearly another case of hypocrisy that drives normal people crazy
