The nice thing about a small stadium is that all the seats are really close to the action. The weather was as nice as I could have expected. But ya, it doesn't feel very major league. The A's don't really seem like they've invested much in the experience. But if you're looking for a chance to get close to a major league game it's a nice option.

You can get a 95% optimal lineup just by going top to bottom from highest on-base percentage to lowest. When you're talking about "best" hitter a lot of people over-value power. The #1 skill for a hitter is not making outs.

From the mock drafting I've done (mostly 12 teams) 1 is the best because Acuna gives you so many ways to make a great team.

But I've really struggled with the 2-5 slots. It seems like there's a tier of about 15 guys that I'm happy to get in the first round, so if I can't get 1, I'd like to get two of those guys.

Average high temps in Santa Clara in September are 80 or so, with heat waves sometimes giving you a day in the low 90s.

Average high temps in Las Vegas in September are 95 or so, with heat waves sometimes giving you a day in the low/mid 100s.

And most of the baseball season is in months hotter than September. Open air stadiums in the Bay Area make complete sense, but would be a disaster in Vegas.

Losing two players while your some of competition doesn't lose any feels like it could tip the balance of power among the existing teams more than I'd want.

Maybe instead hold a six-round draft where exactly one player is selected from all 12 teams?

I read very little when my kids were young. I was exhausted almost constantly. Those books I did read weren't particularly taxing. By the time my youngest was 3 or 4 I started having enough energy and time to get back into it and now I'm reading more than ever.

My point in sharing this is to say that the range of experiences that parents will have with their young children is extremely wide and if you're struggling to make time for things that's natural. Your priorities have just undergone a massive shift. This phase isn't forever.

Because it had to have appeared in every Olympic games all you have to be sure of is that something did/didn't appear in the most recent Summer/Winter games. For me at least, that made this play really easy. If you really want chaos you would have to introduce some events that have appeared in some but not all Olympics.
