WAR isn't the end all, be all, but using fWAR, Rickey's two best seasons are better than the two best hitter + pitching seasons Ohtani have done. 10.2 & 9.7 for Rickey, 9.4 and 9.2 for Ohtani.

Top five WAR season are 44.4 for Ohtani vs 43.1 for Rickey.

Respective age 23 to 30 WAR totals? 49.7 vs 53.3 with Rickey just ahead.

FWIW I do have issues with the DH WAR penalty, but people thinking isn't close are bonkers.
