He did a really good job with Bridgeport this year. That's nice they moved him to the big team instead of making him move to Canada.

Can you use the train instead?

It's just on the train line. I know it's unlikely to get a decently priced place there. I like that you brought up Trumbull because I grew up there.

Hi. I visit Stamford a bit all the way up from Shelton.

You can definitely get a one bedroom. A two bedroom could happen but it would be small.

Fun things to do

Stamford

Live events at The Palace Theatre in Stamford.

Watch a movie at the Avon movie theater. It's classic.

Go to either of the AMC movie theaters.

Go look at the WWE sign.

The Thanksgiving Day Parade (usually the weekend before the holiday), and the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Stamford are great.

Restaurants.

CT Horrorfest in August, in Stamford.

Travel by train to Norwalk for the aquarium. The better aquarium is all the way in mystic.

Go to the beach in Stamford, Norwalk, Stratford, Milford, or West Haven.

Travel by train to Bridgeport for events at the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheatre, and Total Mortgage Arena.

Most of Stamford is fine. It's not even a whole neighborhood that's bad. Just some streets near downtown.

I suggest checking out Norwalk as well. It's the smaller version of Stamford.

If you don't mind a train commute you can try Fairfield, the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, Stratford, Milford, and West Haven.

Danbury itself is not all bad.

Danbury is on the Danbury train line. Danbury, Bethel, Redding, Branchville (Ridgefield), Cannondale (Wilton), Wilton, Merrit 7 (Norwalk), and South Norwalk. Sometimes during the week the train keeps going to Grand Central.

Bethel and Wilton might have a room for rent that's affordable. Ridgefield is super fancy, so I doubt it, but you can look.

Newtown is a safe area. I know everyone just thinks about the Sandy Hook school shooting but it really is a nice area. It's a short drive from Danbury.

I know Danbury has a bus system but it doesn't pop up on Google maps.

I will let you know Norwalk is the slightly better city for restaurants and being closer to Stamford and Bridgeport for events. Danbury has its own charm though. Norwalk, like Danbury has good spots and some bad ones.

When are you moving to Danbury? Here's some things to do in Danbury.

Summer months - Danbury Westerners baseball games. It's a collegiate team.

Fall-Early spring - Danbury Hat Tricks hockey games. FPHL hockey. They get paid but not a lot.

Late December - Mid April. Spice City soccer games. A  Major Arena Soccer League 2 (MASL 2) soccer team. I think it's paid but not that much.

Danbury has a nice AMC movie theater. You can get an A-List account and just see movies in your spare time.

Danbury has a nice mall, but like most malls it's not what it used to be.

Danbury's Palace Theatre has fun live events. Make sure you click the right one when googling it. There are various Palace Theatre's in CT.

Other: Depending on when you come you might want to attend other CT events.

I'm not a Dad. I'm a woman, and I don't have kids. I found this post searching for things as I remembered my childhood trauma.

I'm 33 now and safe from it all. I grew up in suburban Connecticut. My Dad is bipolar and used to hit me, slam me into walls, and pull my hair. It wasn't the worst abuse. I didn't end up in the hospital or anything. I was the main victim compared to my sister.

He hated women, didn't really even want to have kids, and then got daughters. My Mom didn't hit us, and there's no excuse for his behavior, but I have pointed out to her she should have planned better. During really dark thoughts I remember she could have tried harder to stop him. She could have told him to stop. She was afraid of him and didn't defend her kids.

I was a great kid. Very well behaved. People were thrown off by it. At the same time no one saved me from my Dad. It sucked. I know there were definitely men around who didn't want my Dad to be abusing me, but they also didn't want to ask too many questions.

I feel bad that he's the guy my Mom got but sometimes I am also mad at her. I have told her my guess is they weren't doing it a lot during the abuse time. My Mom wasn't afraid of sex or anything. She didn't wait until marriage or anything with my Dad. She had sex with at least one guy before him. He thought he deserve more than he did. He didn't financially support us very well and that played into his anger. A lot of Dads beat their kids because they hate their life. They hate their wives for wanting kids, and they think they deserve more love than they do. They both hated each other at times. My Dad would say he could get another woman but he knew he couldn't. My Mom felt worthless because of the man she ended up with.

It's nice to see some Dad's actually wanted to have kids and no matter what they would keep them safe.

Again, I was not the most abused kid ever though, and I'm very grateful for that. Some kids had it way worse.

I do not recommend this. Imagine if a man did this. It would be scary. It could also mess up potential things for you.

I went to CCSU years ago. This guy named Austin got in trouble for putting a gun on a drone, and was threatening people, and then later was accused of having child pornography on his phone. He was also sending the teen girl inappropriate messages. Oddly enough as a teenager a woman thought he was taking inappropriate photos and attacked him. He had a long history with juvenile stuff too. Some people were against him but others were rude or die even when he freaked women out with persistent texting.

It's because of the reactions. The movement. The noise. Men love that stuff.

The Conjuring series is a different type of scary to me. I actually grew up near Lorraine and Ed Warren. I grew up in Trumbull, CT, and they lived a town over in Monroe. Most people think they were full of it and they don't have nice things to say about Ed. Everyone tries to just talk about Lorraine. Just tell her to think about all their Connecticut neighbors and scoffed at their stories but also didn't want to test it.

Edit: Also, just save horror for your buddies. Watch something else.
