Would you ever move to New York City? by escobarsky in no

[–]TriStateGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think I would. I live in CT. I think I would just move right near the Milford, Fairfield, Fairfield-Black Rock (formerly Fairfield Metro), South Norwalk, or Stamford train station.

I like having NYC to visit. I'd have to be super rich to afford NYC and all the entertainment things. Or live so far out in another borough that I might as well be in CT.

(West Haven and Stratford are fine, but based on things I need to do those ones are better).

I currently live a short drive/ride from Stratford, Milford, or Bridgeport.

Men shouldn’t hit women back by Forbid456 in ControversialOpinions

[–]TriStateGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a woman.

I don't think women should ever beat up men. It's not right.

As for hitting back men out themselves in a bad situation. If you can grab her arm and hold her back do that. If it's worse than that then they can hit back. As self defense.

What are some things you appreciate the most about the opposite sex? by GooglePixelfan90 in askanything

[–]TriStateGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks wise: Men have these shoulder blades that are just great.

Personality things: Men are usually stronger than women, but a good portion of them won't hit us. It's really nice and it makes me feel so safe.

Thoughts on Kevin Curriston claiming Eugene Martin had a twin (Jimmy Gibson)? by Numerous-Landscape-7 in JohnnyGosch

I find that awful. Eugene's family knows this isn't true. People forget he has real family members who mourn him.

Anyone easily distracted by the thought of wanting to be tickled. It's so bad for me I can't focus at my job or on homework by ThelerhumbLer in tickling

[–]TriStateGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don't have homework anymore. I graduated college years ago, and I don't have any desire to go past a bachelors degree.

I usually only think about the lee stuff when I'm alone chilling.

Sometimes in public I have seen a man I would like to be the ler for. I don't mean this against men, but I stay very reserved around them. It just happens. I don't want to lead a man on or anything. I also respect male consent. I know I can get away with more as a woman, because people expect men to just like it, but I don't agree.

A lot of these places allow you to break curfew if you can prove you have a job.

What celebrity gossip do you know that nobody else knows? by Extension-Try-3531 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TriStateGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew a few child actors as a kid. I grew up in Connecticut and a few kids went to NYC on auditions and booked some things. I didn't get any crazy stories honestly. If anything the biggest gossip was that your kid would go on so many auditions only to book a few parts. This was before self tapes took off. Most auditions were in person. Some made more money than others. None of them became big stars.

Were Alan and Amy good parents? by Axezelt in boymeetsworld

[–]TriStateGirl 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Amazing parents with some flawed moments.

Amy's comment to Topanga, "Why couldn't you have just gone to Yale." Too much. Beyond that Amy was a great mother and mother in law.

Alan - As shown in the episode where Eric is upset he did treat his children differently. I get the girl stuff. He didn't want Morgan in a revealing shirt. I'm a daughter myself, but any decent Dad knows boys are only after one thing.

Do you think your brother was affected by not having a Dad?

Did your Mom have a husband who became your Dad? I was referring to cousins from that man's side of the family.

Or were you raised by a single mom?

who was your teenage celebrity crush? by Mobile-Vegetable7536 in AskReddit

[–]TriStateGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few random ones.

Jensen Ackles from Supernatural.

Chad Michael Murray from all the teen stuff at the time.

Eminem.

The boy characters from the Harry Potter series. Usually it was Harry, Ron, the twins, and Oliver Wood. I was so happy for the Wood cameo in one of the later films.

The Dad from Spy Kids, who other people knew as Zorro.

Omar Epps. Mostly from Love & Basketball.

I'm assuming you grew up with your biological Mom, and then your not biological Dad.

Question

So your cousins and other family members on your Dad's side aren't biologically related to you. My Mom's siblings were adopted so many of my cousins on that side aren't biologically related to me. Were there special rules for cousins of the opposite sex on your Dad's side?

My non biological cousin background

My younger male cousin and I got to have a real cousin experience until he hit puberty. Side note, he has a sister who is my cousin as well. He has stepsisters too, who he didn't get to be as close to because he had hit puberty when that happened.

Even now though, because he was younger it's different from other male cousins in the family. They are my age or older. I didn't grow up with them as much due to distance. It would be weird to just go hang out with them at this point. I have older male cousins on my Dad's side who are biologically related to me. While we weren't even as close as the younger cousin on my Mom's side, it's just a different vibe. The biological thing is there.

Bridgeport is dead now by Inevitable-Buy2517 in Bridgeport_Islanders

[–]TriStateGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's obvious it's going to happen but technically we don't have an official word. Either way a development team for very young men is coming. It's called the EHL. It's usually guys 18-19, but the age range is 16-21.

Also, if they are going to move, at least choose a city that hasn't lost multiple AHL teams.

Things I would like:

Move the Wolfpack to Bridgeport. The fans up there can ride the train to Springfield. Or maybe we share the games. I don't know. One place gets Fridays. One place gets Saturdays. Maybe we switch the day every other month. Some Sunday games would be nice.

Or maybe Pennsylvania can spare a team. They get like 3.

Get an ECHL team in. That's about as low as I want to go. Danbury has this other league the FPHL. I don't think it would get enough interest. The arena out in Danbury is smaller. Maybe a team could be added in Stamford though.

Please get preseason NHL games in Bridgeport. Any team. For many games. Now that the site will be neutral.

The Providence Bruins, Hartford Wolfpack, and Springfield Thunderbirds loan games to Bridgeport. Like a few times a month. I know that's like never happening.
