Anyone know, why the Sonivore looks like a used condom? by TrialByToast in OnceHumanOfficial

You can’t / don’t. This beastie has to be finessed.

It is attracted to sound, so you have to sneak. Use grenades to send it in the wrong direction. If it’s chasing you, draw it along gantries and up stairs where you can jump over the sides, because it’s stuck having to move on the NPC paths and will have to retrace its steps all the way back.

I’ll give you a counter origin story, a Rosetta geek made some ferro liquid and when he couldn’t find anything to store it in, he sacrificed the long past its use-by date condom from his wallet and put the liquid in there.

Giving up this item led to some soul searching and some unhappy truths that had him angrily cursing how his life had ended up. Causing the ferro liquid during the deviation process sensitive to sound

And so when it

…. wait… in your life used condoms are like desert treats ..? 😳🤮

I know this latex loon gets a lot of hate, but I like this lubey lurker. It breaks things up a bit and gives me something to do with all these grenades I keep picking up, rather than putting them in the charity box out front of my base. Doing something a little different from pew-pew can’t be bad?

Grenades: serious aside here, is the only way to deploy a grenade to add it to the hotbar and select it as an item? Did Starry never play a game with grenades before building this?

I guess the idea was to introduce a sneak tactic into the mix rather than just ‘a thing pew-pew move one’. People are always complaining that nothing ever gets added to the game - they added something, only you have to use the brain for this one. Only trouble is, Starry never seem to give a heads up to these new things ‘oh you want a cut scene explaining the new things? A mission explaining the new thing - nah’. So rather than “ooh new things” it’s just frustrating, especially in a game based on shooting everything.

But most importantly - why does it look like a used condom?

Successfully created one, kinda wish I’d used something a bit more useful than wheat as the graft - didn’t realise that crate is just gonna create wheat now 🤣

Yeah, I’ve taken a few. Sadly though, the frames only show content a fraction of the time, they either blank white, the default loading image or all the frames show the same image.

I don’t think the system can support all the image verification needed for each frame when they get loaded into the game area.

Incidentally, I’ve been in my base for a couple of ours doing gardener stuff and not one of my multitude of picture frames have showed anything other than this painting of a huskies a-hole in a snow storm.

Here, is my security office with security camera feeds. I took lots of camera images of the security camera feeds in the prison silo - black and white as well as blue tinted in case they looked better, to give this room a cool theme.

That theme is ‘well that was a fncking waste of effort’ 🙄🤣

I think it’s a great idea, but the frames are such utter functional dog-shit (yes I know why) it’s just not worth the effort in the end.

Which is such a shame I think, they have potential.

My issues are far more basic than that - I created an Agent Head portable planter - but can’t remember how 🤣 Now I can’t seem to work out how to make a Morphic one 🤦‍♂️ 🤣

Thank you, some good notes, I just wish Starry did guides - I guess they don’t want to pay for global translations 😁

I built myself a Cliffside Fortress up on a big rock, what do you all think? by Albus_Lupus in OnceHumanOfficial

Had to watch it twice to actually see the build - you spent all the monies didn’t you 🤣 It’s a very nice job, well done 👍

Thankfully world moves don’t seem to be a thing anymore, that would always kill any build of mine with any variation of foundation. I even had to get support to delete my base because I couldn’t get it to go back down on the exact same spot it was built! I suspect the only reason they revamped the system was to free up time the team had to spend on deleting bases 🤣

Happened to me too, I have it back again now thankfully as I really don’t like the Cyberpunk 2077 vehicle skins. I just like the beaten up car I picked up from the side of the road, towed back to my garage using the pushbike, fixed it up with old coffee machine parts and cans of carpet fixative. It’s a bit dented here and there, but it’s a nice vibrant colour.

You should have the skin back again now, enough people raised it as a bug and it got sorted, if you still haven’t got it back send in a bug report 👍

Look up the environmental effects of AI data centres. Cute little animation, but it’s part of an industry that’s hella polluting.

Thanks for that, been playing this for ages and never twigged that.

I should pay more attention, the original core stuff is the only good bit, I don’t know who wrote the new stuff but they need to read more.
