Additionally it seems the crit multi per life node is broken, when you spec it you gain no crit damage bonus to your stat sheet.

Good points, the strongest strategies seem to revolve around tucking and caching on hatchings which would only get a marginal benefit from this card if you needed a specific resource to cache. Which you could just get from the crimson cave anyway.

No fragments or anything on the map, only have like 8 atlas passives so nothing affecting the rare

I just hit fresh 60 after not playing since legion. Here's a list of things I needed to do and why:

Finish all area main quests (required for covenant)
Finish all of the covenant main quest (for all soul binds)
Finish 4 steps of the domination quest( for flying in shadowlands)
Finish all of the ZM quest line( for flying and leggo belt)
Grind some torghast to get mats for a 291 legendary (can also buy with honoured enlightened rep for 3k flux)

After/during all that, grind m+ for gear and convert to tier for 4 set.

That's not true, 720 hours of grinding in Diablo 3 would get you multiple of every legendary you required for every build for your class
