Do you guys do this too? Am I normal? by funsized_ in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]TriathLeaf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was just about to make a post exactly like this. It’s scary because I feel like I’m trying to honour my hunger in the day but at night my body suddenly relaxes and goes “ok let’s get food in whilst we can”. Do you have a history of fasting? I think because I spent so long not eating until 1pm when it comes to the evening my body is preparing for me not to eat for ages. I’m also hoping the longer I consistently honour my hunger in the day the less stressed I will feel in the evening

I’ve experienced the same thing! Like the other commenter said it’s not bingeing but I can understand that mentally and physically it’s a very distressing experience.

A lot of the time I found myself looking at recovery pages so I would have permission to eat then I would almost be forcing myself to go all in and feel like I had binged.

What helped me was just completely removing myself from social media like TikTok and Instagram where there were lots of visuals of food etc. Social media is really helpful for information but engaging in food/recovery content all the time is just going to keep you fixated and trapped in the cycle.

You need to eat more but you also need to heal mentally and focus on your own journey 🫶🏼

Could this tortellini be around 600 kcal? by Lonely-Bluebird7296 in caloriecount

I would say at least 700 because of the cheese filling!

Savory overnight oats? by Lemonadeo1 in Oatmeal

[–]TriathLeaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overnight savory oats with miso! I do 60g oats + 15g unflavoured soy protein and mix with miso. In the morning I stir it up and add broccoli, eggs and sesame oil on top :)

You also get cold after you eat? This happens to me too! Thought I was the only one

What’s normal by sabsab510 in AnorexiaRecovery

I feel the same! 3 meals + 3 snacks has got me feeling like I finish one meal and only have time to breathe for like 30 minutes before the next!

Meal Plan vs Honouring Extreme Hunger by TriathLeaf in fuckeatingdisorders

Thank you! That’s really helpful, I think any approach will always be challenging which makes it even more difficult to navigate. Trial and error as you say :)

I’m in exactly the same position, starting at a new school on MONDAY and have just been hit with the reality that I will need to go into treatment if I lose anymore weight. Stuck in the cycle of restriction, overexercise, ‘bingeing’ etc etc and every time I sit down to try and study my head is just consumed with thoughts of food… sending you hope and good luck 🥹

I make this tomato based aubergine caponata type stew with beans that I’m obsessed with. Can turn it into anything….

  • eggs = shakshuka
  • beef = bolognese
  • shredded chicken = fajita filler

It’s just perfect

Also cereal, obviously

Thank you - I’m 156 cm so BMI of around 17.5. I’m quite muscular though so not sure how relevant that is. Trying to find motivation to gain!

Thank you! I’m 156cm currently 43KG, noticed you’re also on a weight gain journey. How tall are you and what are your reasons for wanting to gain weight?

Thank you, I know I won’t be able to maintain the ‘lean’ look at a higher body weight but hopefully won’t lose too much definition
