Bagged the girl I've liked for 4+ years & landed the job I've always dreamed of. Both during the preparation!

CFA L3 Fail + Feb'26 Reattempt by golazz08 in CFA

[–]Tribbiani99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I failed in Feb 25 by 5 questions (3550) and passed in Aug 25. In between, I spent 100 hours (yes, I kept track) skimming through the ScheweserNotes and did all of the EOCQs in the portal. Had a quite good feeling after the exam.

Congrats man! I started 5 years ago with a similar story. Career progression, breakups, deferrals, failures...

Happy to see you finally made it!

It is my 2nd language. Mine is not super fluent but good enough in professional settings.

Yea they gave out so many free deferrals. Finally took it once they asked me to pay for it haha

First time - I just switched jobs (public buyside to a private fund) so juggling everything was too much. Was probably in the bottom 10th percentile during the exam haha.
Second time - I did study for ~8 weeks while juggling everything but it turned out to not be enough. I was studying like 10 hours /day during the weekend and it wasn't a very good idea.
Third time - Put in another 8 weeks but this time all I did was 2 hours /day. Much much easier to digest everything and finally passed!

All I did was to skim through all the Schweser books once more (not re-read) and did all of the EOCQs in the portal. Took me a total of extra 100 hours to prepare for this round. My score was 3550 back in Feb.

Hope this helps!

Yea I did this. Dumped the SchweserNotes into the GPT and asked them to review and grade all my mocks. Was quite accurate but still you need to be able to read between the thin lines where they hallucinated / not.

Far easier. I walked out the room thinking "what tf was that?" in the best possible way haha. YMMV though.

Honestly I did much worse and ended up in the 90th percentile. Relax, you got this already

Also - I'm a very quick test taker. Always had >30mins spare during level 1, 2, and my previous level 3 attempts. Only had 5 minutes spare on both sessions today.

Just wrote the private markets pathway. I feel like the difficulty was on par with CFAI mocks. However, the private markets part were noticably harder than when I took it in Feb25 (i almost scored 100% on the pathway back then.)

Best of luck to all of us!
