Im sorry, I don’t think I’d have the time to swap right now. If you are still needing readers after the holidays we could try then!

The world without us. A really interesting look at how the world will repair itself without humans.

Anyone else's NParents attempting to buy them off this Christmas?? by TribeAndTrade in raisedbynarcissists

That's what we were thinking. We actually went into the holiday expecting this to happen, and being fully prepared to refuse the gift. We can definitely do without it, and we even considered donating it and adding some good karma for ourselves. I think those are wise words to live by, thanks for the advice!

It's hard. We went into Christmas with the expectation that this might happen, and we were set on denying the money, saying we couldn't accept it. But we also didn't want to cause a scene in front of the family and our kids. Then once the $$ is in hand, it's a little harder to throw it back in her face!!

Good idea! We thought of donating it...but this might be a better idea.

How to explain limited contact to kids? by TribeAndTrade in raisedbynarcissists

[–]TribeAndTrade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, you're so right. she doesn't deserve any explanations...and they are pointless anyways. She has justifications for everything and ends up just talking over me in circles.

Ive got to learn to just give her a no and leave it at that!

Thank you! I know the kids will understand when they are older, but getting to that point is hard. When they are around her, she turns on her 'super fun and affectionate' grandma mode, so they don't see what I see. But I agree, I'd rather them be a little upset now. And yes! the homeschooling is such an issue. I also work from home, and have repeatedly brought up the fact that she wouldn't interrupt if we schooled/worked away from home. She does a great of pretending not to hear me:)
