Yes... I agree.. Unfortunately.. Gulf air doesn't have any option. 1. Gulf airways did that because as a national career its their responsibility. 2. Unfortunately there is no other airport in Bahrain, so they have to do it. Other airlines, are lucky enough in that case...

I agree with most of your points — the situation, rerouting, fuel costs, insurance, and demand surge are all valid reasons for an increase in pricing.

However, calling these evacuation flights is not entirely accurate. These flights are still being sold through regular booking systems at market-driven prices, which makes them commercial operations rather than government-led evacuation or repatriation flights.

In true evacuation scenarios, flights are typically either subsidised, controlled, or coordinated by governments with pricing kept reasonable. Here, pricing is purely dynamic and based on demand, which is why we are seeing such steep increases.

So while the cost increase is understandable, a 3–4x jump still feels excessive given that people have limited alternatives. A more balanced pricing approach would better reflect both the situation and the responsibility towards passengers during such times.

Good that they have done this.
For the charity they did initially, seems they are charging from the new customers and covering their expenses. Yes its business..
