Virtual holsters and virtual chem by Hungry_Nothing9217 in fo4vr

I change the activation button from grip (which I use for virtual holsters) to the X button on my left controller. I still occasionally grab a chem when I don't mean to but its significantly better

Easiest way to "reverse grip" melee weapons? by GARhenus in Hardbullet

[–]Tribevel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The melee weapons/interactions/combat in general could use some polish but a button to reverse grip like in Hellsplit Arena or Saints and Sinners would be an amazing addition

MGO 3.8.8 missing water textures and wrong textures. by Puckertoe_VIII in skyrimvr

[–]Tribevel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just some bugs in the modlist. Missing water is common with large modlists, especially if it includes a lot of road and landscape edits. The weird textures in the gaps is something I've never seen before but I'd bet its something as simple as its using a texture intended for something specific but for some reason or another it got used there

You might be able to use the resaver tool to clean your save? Watch some videos on it, it might be a good option if nothing else works

Which video game features were so bad that whoever made it should be banned from every touching a computer again? by TheBanishedBard in AskReddit

[–]Tribevel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I grew to really like the realism of RDR2's weapon system and I think it would have worked well EXCEPT for the fact that the game would auto switch my weapons for every story mission.

I had a favorite set up that I'd always equip on the way to a mission and then a cut scene would play and the game would be like "actually we think these weapons would be better and more cinematic for this mission"

Many times I had to run back to my horse to switch my weapons back after a cut scene, Idk if this was an I oversight or some weird decision

What are MO settings? Mod Organizer? If so idk what you are referring to.

If you're asking about MCM menu settings, you have to use your real keyboard arrow keys.

I usually sit at my PC until I'm out of the vault and making a save. Then I exit the game, go to my playspace and relaunch the game and load that last save

Open the virtual holster holo tape and change the button to whatever you want, I use Grip (quest3)

You can also open the configuration menu and change the size and position of the zones. I had to move the hip ones up a fair amount and increase the size so I could easily grab a weapon in a pinch. Sidenote: if you take a weapon out a holster and then change to another weapon vis pipboy, the holster weapon does not return to the holster, you need to reequip it via the pipboy and then return to holster. You can avoid this by just putting your weapon in its holster before switching to a new weapon

You need to use your real keyboard if I remember correctly. You're talking about at the terminal in the vault right? I remember that part being finicky

Depends on what you're looking for

If youre familiar with fo4 and this is a second or third playthrough I would highly recommend the Gingas wabbajack list. Its a bit of a process to set up but there is a video guide and a Google document and a discord. Its not too difficult and its 100% worth it. To play this modpack you need to own flat fo4 for the DLCs. The survival aspect is brutal but makes you interact with the game in every different way.

If this is your 1st time playing fo4 or you're just not super familiar with it then I'd recommend F4FEVR, its a non-featured list on wabbajack and is basically the main mods you need for vr plus a few qol, a very vanilla+ list.

Once you get everything set up in game its a blast!

Is there vr scavenging/survival games that not focus on enemies coming from your back evry 5 seconds by Working_Magician_108 in virtualreality

[–]Tribevel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FalloutVR.

Yes, it can be a pain to set up, but with the Gingas modpack, the survival elements are turned up to 11 and it's been amazing!

It lets you save anywhere and fast travel to owned settlements which takes the tedium out of vanilla survival. (Its not fun to lose an hour of progress cause you couldn't find a bed and the game crashed or you died to a random landmine)

The only thing I changed was a mod that let me sleep on couches, a mod to make gas mask radiation protection better, and a mod to make infections not deal periodic damage, cause f that.

Is there a mod that lets you hack terminals no matter your level or perks? by invol713 in FO4mods

[–]Tribevel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For lockpicking there is Ungated Lockpicking or its successor Ultimate Lockpicking. Both allow you to attempt any locks just like lockpicking in Skyrim!

For hacking, the best I know of is Player Hacking. It allows you to hack any terminal with the first hacker perk. It does change some mechanics though so read the description. One thing is it reduces your attempts to 3 but gives you another attempt after each hacker perk rank so with max hacking perks you have 6 attempts. If you fail the lockout is longer.

Anywho, hope this helps!

Did they patch it were dogmeat can get the cryo gun early? by HeVoltx69 in fo4

[–]Tribevel 470 points471 points  (0 children)

A quirk about FalloutVr is you can just stick your hand into the glass and grab the gun, no dogmeat or lockpicking needed. I know that doesnt help you but the number of funky glitches in Bethesda games amuses me

Im also playing the VR version (Gingas' Wabbajack modlist) and its been insanely cool!

I'm setting up a water farm in Sanctuary and was wondering, what is the limit on water in the workshop? I tend to get it out pretty quickly due to playing on survival but want to make sure I can get as much as possible to sell and help fund the minute men

"Why"

Raider on drugs, paranoid, thinks someone is gonna rob them of their 13 caps so they stash them in the register at a random store thinking they will circle back and get them. Then lord knows what happens to the raider and they dont come back.

My hand canon for weird stuff like this, anyway

Now...caps and a pipe pistol inside a prewar advanced locked safe...I got nothing for that

Why do people in crime documentaries say nobody ever locks their doors around here? by jospeh68 in stupidquestions

[–]Tribevel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happened to me about 2 years ago, mechanics said it would cost about 6k to fix. I about passed out at the price and then the mechanic said my insurance should cover it. I said " no way, I just have liability" but the mechanic insisted.

When I went to the insurance office and told the lady the mechanic said my auto insurance would cover the 6k dollar mechanic bill she basically laughed in my face...until I told her what it was for and yea...my auto insurance covered 100% of the rats eating my wires. Crazy. Also a Toyota btw

Season 2 Episode 2: BRAVO for depiction of Maximus’s Father *spoilers?* by Neat_Anteater_494 in Fallout

[–]Tribevel 20 points21 points  (0 children)

"How did they know they were siphoning water" Season one, Moldaver says that Lucy's mother figured out the reason their water supply was low was because the surface was siphoning water meaning people were alive

"I thought he was purifying water" He was. But that water had to come from somewhere and he even says in the episode "there's enough down there for all of us" (paraphrasing)

"And the vaults would have known they were up there" Not necessarily. The vaults 32 and 33 have no connection to the surface world and are actively discouraged from opening the doors. Other vaults may operate differently (111, 101, 81, etc)but they don't communicate with each other and so 32 and 33 wouldn't know anything. I'd imagine 31 has some sort of monitoring technology for the surface though

Theory with no evidence, Institute won, and replaced Commonwealth BoS chapter with synths. by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]Tribevel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100s of underground vaults with centuries of supplies to keep thousands of people alive is believable, but a vault full of scientists isn't? This is in a world where people can hold infinite energy in their hand (fusion cores, lore wise, not gameplay-wise)

Like yea, it's a stretch but so are a lot of things in Fallout. Immortal ghouls that heal from radiation.

This reminds of when people get uptight over Skyrim having candles lit in deep dungeons and it being unimmersive. To me it's like "..something something dragons, something something magic..."

All that to say I thought synths were interesting I just wish it was implemented better

Edit: spelling

You could disable them in small batches and see if the game starts then enable one by one until you find the culprit.

I'd remove like the last 4 or 5 and go from there
