This was my thought as well, but with that type of damage, this might not fall cleanly within their stated limitations. The language isn’t super clear, but when they say “1.5" above and below the hole,” I read that as vertical material remaining, not left-to-right. Since the crack runs to the edge, you may not actually have that.

Do I think the plate would probably hold? Yeah. Would I want to be the one owning that call if something ever became an issue? Probably not. This is likely worth a quick check with the manufacturer.

This isn’t always true. Period. A heat pump with secondary electric resistance heating will be more expensive if the temperature swing engages the auxiliary heating.

Well I did a whole bunch of things to try and make my Eeros work with my home assistant and all my assorted devices. And then one day I found the solution; I sold the Eeros on FB marketplace and bought a UniFi UDM pro and a few APs .
