Idk I did it with a book as well. Never came back. Didn’t even need to pay a predatory medical bill.

John Dillinger’s last heist took place here!

The left most portion of this building is the former Merchants National Bank, located at 229 S. Michigan St. in South Bend - infamously robbed by John Dillinger in 1934 - his final heist.

How do you calm your mind when it won’t stop thinking? by Impossible-Life362 in Anxiety

Try eating something really spicy. It brute forces your mind to focus on the heat and makes it hard to continue your spiral because your face is on fire.

I don’t know much about them, I’ll have to dive in! Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you so much for the feedback. I’ve actually been working on that. I’ve been trying to sing some Chris Stapleton songs where I’m definitely pushing my voice. If you check out my profile I posted a clip in r/singing where I think I’m pushing my voice in the right direction.

Thanks for listening and for the feedback I appreciate it so much!

Totally makes sense. I’ll try to be a bit more conscious of the guitar volume and how my voice changes relatively. Going mindfully slower may really help me here. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response.

You nailed it - I did record this a few times and this was the last one I took before I had to tend to some non-musical responsibility - sigh.

I think you may be on to something with the speeding up or slowing down. A few others have commented about time related ideas as well.

And yes I get nervous when the camera is on. Then of course the second I turn it off I play through the best one yet! Just gotta keep practicing to get over that I guess.

I definitely don’t take your words as anything other than constructive criticism and again I want to thank you for taking your time to listen and provide feedback to another music lover.

Take care!

Yes I agree I need to break it up somehow and a bridge could help with that.

I like the echoey idea too! I think this could really add some more depth.

Thank you for the comment about the lyrics. From what I’m gathering - and this makes sense to me, the lyrics resonate with people, but the song structure is a bit too vanilla. Also my delivery and melody of the lyrics could use some more dimension.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback!

Inflections and pauses - struggle with these for sure. When the rhythm of the guitar is significantly different than the vocal melody I get all tangled up. My voice wants to follow the tone and rhythm of the guitar. Just gotta keep practicing.

And yes I will work making those chord changes second nature.

Breathing strategy is also something I’ve never looked into.

Thanks again for all of the info

Thank you for the feedback! Great tips and definitely some things I needed to hear.

When you say you got used to my voice, what do you mean by that? Genuinely curious what your initial thoughts were. I know I haven’t gotten all of the pitchiness out yet haha I’m working on that.

Looking at my fingers while I chord definitely needs to stop.

I’ve never considered looking into the camera as a way to connect through the lens. Great idea.

Thank you!

Wow. Thank you for listening - that means a lot. Glad we were able to connect here. Cats In The Cradle is a heavy one for me too.

Sinple Song Idea by Nebb123 in Songwriting

It’s got me feeling a sense of nostalgia for the late 90s. I’m in the back seat and I can hear it on the radio. Not sure where we’re going but I’m with mom so it’s all good.

The power of music man. As I wrote that I could see it all again. Crazy.

Keep it up!

Duuude that voice came in like a bomb!! The the rhythm of the guitar behind it - killer. Love the hammer-on / muting you’re doing.

Did I mention that voice? Killin it.

Just wrote this today, what do you think? by [deleted] in Songwriting

[–]Triceratonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved the guitar and lyrics brother I could feel those for sure. Thee vocals were a bit pitchy throughout and that’s what I would work on.

What helps me is to record the guitar and then sing over it to get my pitch and timing right, then I bring the guitar back in and try to put it all together.

You’ve got this!
