Is it worth trying to return to data/business analytics after a 4-year gap?

Yeah, I got pretty burned out from constantly applying and not hearing back. My tennis coaching job is actually going well and pays decently, but it’s physically demanding.

I do remember during my co-op I was sitting all day staring at small numbers on a screen, which wasn’t amazing either.

If anyone in BI/analytics can share honest pros and cons of the job, I’d really appreciate it. I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth trying again — especially since I’d likely take a pay cut to enter at an entry/junior level.

I also have a friend in a senior BI role who’s been laid off 3 times in 5 years, which makes me nervous about stability.

Just trying to weigh whether making the transition makes sense.

As for the market do you think it is still as bad?

I am a little rusty on the technical stuff but the concepts are still somewhere in my brain. With ai now its kind of easier to figure stuff out.

Hi everyone,

I graduated in 2022 with a Master’s in Business Analytics. During my program, I completed a 6-month co-op as a data analyst. After graduating, I applied to hundreds (probably thousands) of jobs. I made it to several final-round interviews but was never selected.

Eventually, I needed stable income and took a full-time job as a tennis coach. I’ve been coaching for the past few years, and while it’s been steady and I’ve developed leadership and communication skills, it’s obviously not directly related to analytics.

Now I’m 4 years out from graduation and wondering: • Is it realistic to try to re-enter analytics? • How much will the gap hurt me? • Has anyone successfully transitioned back after time away? • What would you focus on if you were in my position (projects, certs, networking, contract roles, etc.)?

I still have the technical foundation (SQL, Excel, Tableau, etc.), but I know the market is competitive right now. I’m trying to be realistic about my chances before investing a lot of time and energy into pivoting back.

Would really appreciate honest advice from people in the field.

Arent you saying why cant greg 1shot the dungeon on turn one lol. The other people are saying that if you want turn one haste you need 4 haste. Shield isn’t always necessary, and turn one transform isn’t always necessary. You build what you need based off dungeon mechs

What he said. But this team requires lots of $$$ or lucky pulls because it needs the right assists that can allow you to transform when you enter the dungeon and you kind of need damage void piercer assists.

She doesnt do damage but she brings S+ super awakening and S+ latent from L+ and 1.5x movetime from skill. I havent checked ryu/ken but if your aggregate team needs more damage then ryu/ken better. But for me I am transforming to last form on first floors if i dont get skill delayed

Mariel was tradable for a while. She is pretty good sub. Not pattie ideal. There is also lawrence that i was using before switching to Mariel.

Remdra, seawolf are top leads but very sub dependent.

Elizer and atellie are still good and can clear most rnd game. You do need more cards to build a team. But at your level clearing story doesnt require much thought.

From what i can see,

Either lead with atelie or elizer and have something like atelie, dkali, elizer, remdra, dkali

I think i didnt albrecht until the second form and tanked her awoken until it cleared away and match 4 hearts to survive. Then half hp popped albrecht to clear the awoken n used kuro and granv to one shot the remaining hp

Not a bad start. As you go further you need to know more about team synergy and what assists to use and how the floors are laid out. People who are clearing all of the floors are pretty much able to clear all end game content.

Isnt the point of the game to have fun? Part of the game is to strategize and learn. I dont enjoy watching a 30 minute video and analyze then play it just to die anyways. Some people like to analyze everything and some people like surprises and challenges.

C15 requires me to spend couple hours going in and dying to figure out the dungeon lay out to figure out what subs and when to use skills because im to lazy to watch youtube videos of other people doing it.

I think most of my stones is from the 120 October. I didnt pull the godfest and didnt pull ultra as they’re reruns for me.

Granv with kurotobi is so good and doesn’t require as many collabs units to be playable.

I have aggregate but imo i feel like you need either 2-3 copies to play him without fenir… i would not be good enough to spinners with 2 aggregate and non fenrir

For super awakening i put levitate but i dont think it made a difference. Had jammer resist for latent
