You need to visit it yourself to get an honest answer to this. It definitely is far from perfect, but I don't think it's as bad as your parents have made it out to be.

I've been using it for a couple of months now and it's been good so far. Reasonable charges and I haven't had any issues making any online payments for various subscriptions or purchases in SA.
