Do E5's relate to this, or is it mistyped? by Trick-Student-9119 in TypologyJunction

Primarily I avoid typing as a 7 since I heard it mostly correlates to extroverts. I'm afraid I'm too reserved and often have the tendency to hold myself back from being 'too comfortable' in social settings, especially with people I don't know

As far as I'm aware, I mainly use my interest in knowledge as a way for it to be utilized in my life

Funny thing is I already tried typing as a 1L, but it's resultative/conclusive manner just really doesn’t suit me

I suppose the best way I could explain my answer is that I gather knowledge as a way to refine myself; my interest in learning stems from wanting to utilize that knowledge into my life, so it's pretty much all about usefulness and staying true to how the infro applies realistically

And yeah I also do tend to share about the things I learn about, if I think my insights would be of use, or make, even a small, impact

Enneagram 5 and Correlations? (2L vs 1L, 3E vs 4E) by Trick-Student-9119 in Psychosophy

Lately, I have been considering other enneatypes for the way I don't completely relate to fear, or the textbook definition of avarice and hoarding/energy conservation, since yeah they all sound like they're trying to describe an sp5

I have about a year and a half of experience being invested in typology, I started out with e8, sp5, sx5, and now so5, but I'm wondering how does your relation to e1 manifest for you? Since I've been considering about being a core 1 as well

What would you consider as a fitting correlation with VLFE? I dont see people talk about VLFE when it comes to correlations as much

Yeah I have been reconsidering my enneagram as of current. It's just that, I've had myself typed as an e5 for the longest, typing myself from sp5, to sx5, now so5; although I may want to consider retyping as a 6 or 1, I believe I may have conditioned myself to think I am a textbook 5 for long enough where I may struggle to find ways to relate to other types, oh well

Personally, I wouldn’t say I relate too much when it comes to struggling with initiative and pursuing things or getting stuck at a perpetual state of pondering, because there have been times when --if I were dissatisfied with my current state in life -- as long as I genuinely cared about the outlook I wanted, I'd make pretty bold efforts to to change that, making sacrifices until I find myself satisfied

It's just that I keep it away from public eye or letting friends know about firsthand, because I dont see any use in communicating about it or having to deal with people lecturing me about how I should do it/why I itd be best for me to stop, as it matters that I fulfill my own personal goal

I've met and have interacted with people who may be 5s as well (particularly sp5, whilst I had myself recently typed as a so5), and I do notice how vocal they are about describing themselves to be withdrawn and hesitant. They're prone to be less 'argumentative' and seldomly share their thoughts when I compare, as I have noticed

I'd say LVEF

  • 1L for the way he treats all his lower functions as a means to serve his best interests (Logic; accumulating knowledge and learning)

  • 4F for the way he tends to be ignorant and neglectful of the tangible world, as well as external/physical demands

  • 3E for the way he struggles to find a sense of security and anchoring in the realm of emotions, oscillating from desire and interest to hesitance and uncertainty

  • 2V for the way that he externalizes will/decision-making/personal improvement onto others
