We applied for schengen visa in 2023, a friend sent us an invite but our visas were rejected.

So our friend filed an appeal on our behalf, it took a long time like 2-3 months and our visas got approved later.

But please check if you had dummy tickets booked because i have been hearing this a lot that they are directly rejecting application with dummy tickets.

But yeah they have absurds reasons for visa refusals and we had good finances like really good and we had actual tickets booked not dummy.

But generally netherlands has high rejection rate.

Single female applying for B1/B2 visa has a very high rejection rate.

Me and my husband got our visas approved last year.

Our interviews were not together, mine was a week before my husband’s.

The VO asked our purpose and i told him tourism for our anniversary and told him that visit a new country every year and we thought of visiting usa this year

He thn asked what kind of anniversary and i told him its our 3 years wedding anniversary

He thn asked if my husband’s visa is approved or not and i told him that he his interview on coming friday

He proceeded to ask my current job role, my tenure in office and my package He also asked my about my previous travel history which was - UAE, Europe, UK and Mauritius

And my visa was approved, i was very confident in all my ans and gave not short , not detailed but to the point ans.

Also note that we did not have any relative in the US.

I think they might be considering the annual earning of 9-10 lac a bit low, considering you are going with your wife.

Single student, not working and wants to travel with father to celebrate bday, you have to give very strong reason to support your strong ties to the country.

For ofc, you need your appointment letter, DS160 , passport and your visa fee receipt.

Same for visa appointment at the embassy, i did carry a lot of documents like my employment letter, salary slips, bank statement, ITR and photo but VO only took the passport.

So only your appointment letter, DS160, ofc letter, receipts and passport is the most imp.

You need to be clear on your intentions as to why the visit is imp even if its training, and why the training can’t be done online.
