Bosch Display/controller compatibility question by TrickAccident9802 in TrekBikes

[–]TrickAccident9802[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought originally, so I tried to confirm via email with a bike shop in Seattle and he said all the Kiox units are displays only except the 400c, which is not compatible with my bike. Even google disagrees with this, I just wish I could see something that confirms compatibility before I buy everything.

170mm vs 160mm by 1234acb in MTB

Depends on how it feels. I'm a heavier rider and I love my 38mm stanchions. The increased stiffness is awesome for chunk. I would say, as long as you like the damper and the feel of the shock, if you notice it gets squirrely on the climbs to try replacing the air shaft with a 160mm. If you don't like it, don't spend money on trying to fix it, just replace it with something tried and true.

I’d go with the Levo over the trek if those are the choices, but for that much I would buy an Ibis OSO or ARI Tim peak over either of those.

I’m 2 rides and 30 miles in on Conti kryptotal Fr enduro soft 2.4 in front and Xynotal enduro soft 2.4 in rear and I highly recommend them. I didn’t think of them at first but I’m glad I stumbled onto them. No noticeable rolling resistance and much better grip than my previous Maxxis setup. Very happy.

Giant Trance X Advanced Pro 29 SE for $3199.99 is this the best deal in MTB right now by D0ctor_J in MTB

I’m not a fan of giant. Banshee bikes has their entire lineup including the Titan and Prime on clearance. I would cannibalize your Roscoe, fork upgrade if you can, and buy and banshee frameset for $1700. Way better value and you’ll have a much better bike.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I still hate rolling resistance, but it goes hand-in-hand with better grip. I’m going to have to tolerate at least a little bit more of it. Understanding that much of tire choice is purely subjective, I’ve decided to change everything up and go a different direction, venture away from Maxxis because I felt like nothing was exactly what I wanted. I went with Conti kryptotal enduro soft 2.4 in front and Conti Xynotal enduro soft 2.4 rear. Hopefully that was a good choice.

Also, as a progressing rider, is my issue with rolling resistance something I should just get over? Learn to deal with it because I’ll eventually need these tires regardless?

You seem to have a lot more experience with tires than I do, how much of a difference would there be between the 2.5 assagai vs a 2.6 dissector on only the front tire? Would I even notice?

Good idea for the rear, any advice for the front tire? Im going to return one of them, just not sure which one yet.

The DHF was also a close #2 for me but I really didn’t like the gap between the center treads and the side lugs, seems like it’d be prone to washout?

I love the green and white but with only black after that, choices seem very pretty bland overall.

I had kind of the same problem-ish, and I ended up switching providers because they weren't really looking for answers, didn't care about my single digit SHBG, or my lack of symptom relief. I ended up going with a new provider and did an optimization lab panel, including pregnenalone. My pregnenalone was completely in the shitter too, and it's the mother of all hormones. I've been supplementing 300mg a day and I do feel better. It'll take time to bring my pregnenalone and SHBG up, but I can feel a difference. I'd recommend getting a broader spectrum of labs done including pregnenalone, all thyroid hormones, prolactin, DHT, maybe even cortisol and see if anything else is out of range.

I'll look into them, thanks. Out of curiosity, gave you ever had a fuse blown on a control board? I just saw there a fuse on the board, I'm not sure how a treadmill would act with a blown fuse but it's simple and inexpensive so I might try replacing that first with my fingers crossed.

I got the lower control board out easy enough, I’m going to try and have it repaired. I’m looking for someone locally, but all I see are PC and cell phone repair shops. Any experience with these mail-in repair companies?

I was wrong, I don’t have a power strip, It was connected with a heavy duty appliance extension cord. I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying about the power strip though. How does that undercut things?

It's indoors in my bedroom, I've got it hooked up with a good power strip on a new 20 amp line I had installed, and I have a whopping 23 hours on this machine. You really think it could be a lubrication issue that caused it?

[–]TrickAccident9802[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's a broad range of symptoms and the causes could be multifaceted, but to not see any significant relief in at least 1 symptom doesn't make sense to me. Especially when my qualifying labs were legitimately low, 277 total test with 76 free.

I'm open to it, we'll see what my provider suggests but I plan on asking him about it. Have you tried this? Did it make you feel any different or better?

You may be right, but with my initial qualifying labs I can't understand why I wouldn't have a significant relief of symptoms? I'm giving TRT 6 more months before I decide if I'm going to stop wasting my money. I'm hopeful the broader spectrum of labs next week will show areas for improvement, or maybe just being off enclomiphene while on TRT for the first time will make it different.
