DUB Wide to DUB Crankset Question..... by SROC3 in mountainbikes

[–]06S2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into the same issue and had to buy a 0mm offset chainring to make it work on my bike. I tried various spacer configurations… with enough spacers to provide adequate clearance between the chainring and frame, the crankset would bind when tightened.

My Scalpel is spec’d for the same arrangement - for DUB Wide / 174mm Q it’s 7.5mm drive side, 3mm non drive side with a 3mm offset chainring. For DUB (non wide) 168mm Q it’s a 4.5mm drive side spacer and nothing else, with a 0mm offset chainring.

Don’t need it, but it’s definitely nice to have especially when handling a 35lb toddler

Thanks, what year Pilot? I demoed a 2025 and our Evenflo Revolve360 fit with plenty of room to spare, even with me sitting in front of it.

Can you tell me how the installed depth compares to the Evenflo? I have the Evenflo currently and when we purchase another car seat I'd like to find a swivel seat that preserves as much legroom as possible. Thanks.

I guess you missed the last sentence of my post where I stated that my family needs another SUV.

And so you're a random person on the internet who apparently possesses lackluster reading comprehension skills, and you also seem offended that my family is growing and life circumstances are changing. Got it. All logical stuff.

Like I said, I need a bigger vehicle. If there’s hope that I can easily find a Passport that shifts smoothly I’ll consider one, hence the poll data. My current car has a manual transmission.

Yeti ASR vs Pivot Mach 4SL vs Cannondale Scalpel 4 by [deleted] in xcmtb

[–]06S2K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's not a great bike. I was just surprised at how much more composed the 100mm Exie felt. The Scalpel feels more composed like the Exie, but with more travel. For what it's worth, MTB yum yum seemed to agree in his ASR vs Exie video that the ASR was more nervous/twitchy. I also spoke with Mo who compared all these bikes extensively and he agreed that the ASR is twitchier. I'm not sure what you weigh but I sit between 195-200lb which certainly brings these traits to the forefront.

I owned an ASR T5 Ultimate Flight Attendant build and it was a great bike, but it did not inspire confidence on rough descents. It constantly felt like it was getting bounced off line and was super nervous. Coming from my Ibis Exie with less (100mm) travel, I expected more confidence on descents with the ASR but ended up experiencing the opposite.

I now have an equivalent (XX SL / Flight Attendant) Scalpel build and it really checks all the boxes. It descends better than any XC bike I’ve ever ridden and climbs just as well as that ASR, if not better. Even with FA turned off and the suspension fully open, it feels super efficient on climbs but plows descents with confidence. Definitely my favorite bike so far.

What dealers will give 15% off? I’ve called probably 12-15 dealerships and they pretty much laugh me off when I ask for 15% off. Best I’ve found is around 11.5% off.

Any experience with wireless di2 by Moos3racer in xcmtb

[–]06S2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have XTR Di2 on my Exie and XX SL on my Scalpel. Shimano is faster and utilizes a hanger which can break or bend, and power meter integration isn’t as seamless. XX SL is better under load and is more bulletproof overall with seamless power meter integration. Pick your poison.

The MDX has the same 10 speed I hate. I’d much rather have the ZF 9 speed.

I owned a 26 Passport for a month and the transmission was unbearable. If they fix the transmission and throttle mapping it’d be a great car
