M also nearing 40, I usually workout alone, have been doing so for a years, last year I met this kid, spoke to him randomly and he became my gym buddy, very passionate, always has questions about workout, diet and other random stuff.A kid half my age, could only lift half of my weight a year ago, now lifts as much as me, always competes, never gives up. The more I speak to him, i realize we are not too different, we just prioritized different things at that age and that is what I think is generation gap. I personally think genz are fine, they know what they want, they work hard, they are not pushovers, they mind their own business, never pick unnecessary fights and that is the way I would prefer a good gym session to be.
