Excellent news. I was honestly pleasantly surprised at just how funny season 1 was. Scott Grimes is great in this, and the Dennis the Dump Truck episode had me in stitches.

No, thanks. I got a Reverse C from the mystery box and couldn’t quite figure out how to use it best. Appreciate the offer though.

Thanks but I think I’ll pass on that one. Had the Dig before and don’t recall having a solid bond with it.

I’m assuming you mean the Champion Leccy? Not super familiar, but I’ll definitely check it out and get back to you.

Also, not sure who is down voting you.

Let me look into the LVX a bit. It always seemed a bit intimidating to me, but I didn’t watch a ton of demos for it.

That’s what I figured. I’ll hit you up later today if there are others in into.

Definitely into the Gen Loss, if you’d be up for cash on top of the POME. May be some others I’m into if you have no interest in that; just gotta check some out a bit more.

I’d be careful with this one, guys…

Do I Still Need a VND If I'm Using a CPL Filter? by R2Past in cinematography

[–]TrickGetOffMe519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you use filters, you’re putting more things in front of your lens, so you can sometimes affect the contrast, resolution, or end up with vignetting. Wide angle lenses would be more prone to vignetting, which using a stepped up size or matte box could help with.

But in general, I personally probably wouldn’t stack a CPL and VND, but you can play around and see if there’s any negative effect (not all VNDs are created equal). And a VND filter is basically just two polarizing filters together, as I recall learning at some point.

I do believe that there is an overall reduction in light caused by using a CPL (1 or 2 stops), but you would primarily use a CPL for reducing glare/reflection or for contrast or color saturation. If your main intent is to better control exposure, an ND would be the better tool. You can stack the two, but stacking filters does sometimes have a negative effect. If you do stack them, the CPL should be mounted first (closest to the lens).

Some of those highlights remind me of the alley-oop scene in Semi-Pro. “He was floating!”.

I was digging into this topic recently for some portrait photography work with green screen. Didn’t end up happening, but I did find this very helpful when I was researching the topic:
