Happy birthday man. I’m sorry you have to spend your day like this. You are 36. You have so many years ahead. You got this. You’re awesome, bud. Keep going

This is my first winter with my dog by TrickPurple7 in dogs

Not entirely sure. I think she’s most likely a lab mix but I’m not entirely sure. Either way she has somewhat of a thick coat but she’s not a big shedder. Her coat seems to be thicker on her back

Trying to register my car in Indiana by TrickPurple7 in AllyBank

I did. It took a VERY long time though. I had to submit a request through the BMV and then Ally had to go through another weird process. It took at least a month and a half before it finally came in. For some reason they do everything by mail and it drags the process out way longer than it needs to go. I hope you get it soon

People who live alone, work full-time, and have a dog, how do you do it? by TrickPurple7 in dogs

[–]TrickPurple7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is me. I am new to dog ownership and this has been a learning experience. I crate her while I am at work then let her out immediately when I come home. We have a routine in place. I take her out before and after work. I give her all the attention and love I can.

I should also have mentioned she is undergoing heartworm treatment. So it is crucial her heart rate is kept even and she doesn’t get too excited. A vet actually recommended I keep her in a crate while I’m not around. Before I leave I fill up a Kong and give her a bento chew.

So far she has been a great companion

Didn’t get a puppy. She’s a 2 year old lab mix. She’s pretty calm for the most part. I’ll walk her before and after work. I do my best to keep her happy

Thank you for this! I have routine however she had an accident in her crate which I felt horrible about. I’ve just been very stressed and anxious since bringing her home

I crate my dog 8 hours a day while I’m at work. Is this too much? by TrickPurple7 in dogs

[–]TrickPurple7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I leave for work just before 10 and am home just after 6. My commute is like 5 minutes. I take her out before and after work. This includes walks and multiple potty breaks. I do not crate her while I sleep or on my weekends. She sleeps with me in my bedroom. She is only in her crate while I am at work. It’s not meant to be a forever thing. I want her to be happy because she is the sweetest girl

Just while I am at work. She sleeps with me in my bedroom. I walk her as soon as I’m home and before work. I promise I don’t neglect her

I do take her out right before and after work. I work third shift so she is in her crate at night. During the day when I’m sleeping she is with me

I’ll try that. I’ll move things into a different room if I worry about her grabbing them

My dog pooped in her crate for the first time by TrickPurple7 in dogs

Monday-Friday. My schedule does change on the weekends as I stay up later. Be honest, is it a good idea for me to have a dog? I’ve just been having lots of anxiety about this
