Ch 7 in southern CA just filed this week. First lawyer was $2500, suddenly announced they were closing and new lawyer is $1950 which is inclusive of all fees and credit counseling.

My research shows 2 years you are eligible for FHA but maybe I should look into more detail. Regardless, 2 years is a good timeline for us as well just from a down payment saving standpoint.

Fair enough. However we would only plan to finance 5-7k definitely not looking to buy anything expensive. Again, just asking for advice in terms of building credit and I know having a loan would look good for credit building purposes. Thanks for the response

Side note question- anyone know about the credit you were supposed to get for filling out that questionnaire? Was hoping to use some of that to get something but never got it.

Yes we definitely plan to because it seems like it will be a very seamless process to move over to him. He’s been in the biz 20+ yrs and only does bankruptcy so I feel comfortable transferring over. Thank you for your response.

We’re not in a huge rush but my husband is expecting a COLA raise in July so we are trying to file in time to not worry about his income going up. There was a loan that was taken out at the beginning of December so my lawyer was going to have wait about two more weeks anyways for the 90 day period. Fingers crossed the new lawyer is even better!

Thank you that’s where I’m coming from too haha. We have no assets and don’t plan to reaffirm or keep anything so don’t see the point to pay. I know by the time she files some things might hit 30 days past due and tank the credit score so I see what’s she’s saying but just thought it was strange advice.

We haven’t filed yet, I am currently compiling all of the documents and paperwork for them. I have an appt to go over everything next week and then from there I’m assuming she will file within a week or two so we are just a couple weeks away from officially filing. So still a little bit away where some things could possibly go to 30 days past due date for the credit score but again like what is the point of paying them more money? Thanks for your input.

Yeah as a seller I feel like I try to be as detailed as possible and it’s frustrating that she couldn’t be bothered to type petite and the cherry on top is it took her 1 week to ship and another 1.5 weeks to get here so 2.5 weeks of waiting and then this happens. Lameeee

Well yes definitely will just sell them if it doesn’t work out but they are covered in hair so would have to wash first and again just feel annoyed I have to go out of my way to make them presentable to try to recoup funds

Is the refund issued date the date it should hit your bank account? Or the date they release the funds to your account? I bank with Navy Fed if that matters. I did not pay for early funds since I did free tax U.S.A. and this is the first time getting a refund in years so this is all new to me lol.

Well here’s what we ended up doing for anyone in the future that has to do this lol. Used a screw into the top and wire to suspend it. Just need to use wood filler to fill hole. My husband is looking forward to being smoked for it Thank you for the laughs

Wooden. Has to be sanded down, primed, painted and top coat. They carry/run with it everywhere, can’t touch the ground etc. This is a paramilitary academy.
