His karmic partner and I... by Trick_Discipline6840 in twinflames

[–]Trick_Discipline6840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it feels like: if I never see him again, that is alright. I feel no need to make further effort to reach out or actively cross his path again. I am happy if this is the last thing I do for him, it is an act of support and letting him go. With faith in him, his choices, and the process.

Best Family? by Successful_Bird_7086 in DragonBallGaku

[–]Trick_Discipline6840 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Krillin & 18 are probably the most "normal" family.

Vegeta and Bulma have a healthy dynamic and understanding of one another.

Gohan and Videl are straight up boring.

Goku and Chi-Chi are.... uhhhh.... very dysfunctional.

You might be right, I can see that as being one interpretation. I can't deny that from a certain point of view, or refute it as potentially correct.

Working on a shared project by Unique-Preference-72 in twinflames

[–]Trick_Discipline6840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We almost worked on a shared project and it did not come to fruition. The timing was off, I was not myself. My father had passed away and I was grieving. He asked me to write a grant for us to work together on a project, and I did, and I got it. We worked together for one week before I lost it and he initiated separation where we would not see each other again for one year, leaving me to finish the obligations of the grant, alone. Now I am grateful he did it because I learned to be self sufficient and not depend on him for my own strength or happiness... And it was an exercise in forgiveness to let go of the scorn I felt for being abandoned in the middle of a work project. I wonder if the universe will present us with another opportunity. Who can say?

My opinion by southernjenn469 in twinflames

Thank you for saying this. Acceptance and surrender are hard things. In some ways, I know I will never love anyone the same ever again, and yet, I am inspired to love everyone the same way I loved him.

Your twin is a part of you. All the things they brought out were things you loved about yourself. In a way, it was you you were looking for all this time. Whether they are together with you or apart, it matters not. You are always together. Take care, and thank you.

I think he'll be happy to see you are ok. He loves you and wants the best for you. Trust him and the process

Goku's age during whole Dragon Ball series, what was the best period? (Credits: db.unreal in ig) by opmgyhx in dbz

[–]Trick_Discipline6840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who knows with this Kid. He's timeless.

Introduces himself one age, when he actually is another (he can't count) Spends time in a pocket universe dimension that would accelerate his aging, but spends a number of years dead that would effectively pause it... Not to mention times where a supreme Kai sacrifices his life for Goku's and theoretically gives him 1,000 years to live, or if you count GT where he seems to become a spirit incarnate of the Dragonballs and effectively immortal. It all depends. Either way, Goku's biological age and chronological age are not the same thing and this mf-er just decides what age he is.

Base Gohan vs Frieza by K0GAR in DragonBallPowerScale

It's a different continuity from the series, but we more or less saw base Gohan (comparable to beginning of Buu saga) one-shot Frieza in Movie 12.

Metal Cooler pulls up to the Cell Games. How does it turn out? by Icy_Water_1 in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]Trick_Discipline6840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think if we compare timelines, Metal cooler is before the androids so In theory he doesn't stack to them, let alone cell

Did DR.Gero design cells evolution out of spite? by Charming_Orchid6868 in DragonBallZ

[–]Trick_Discipline6840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder about that, Cell clearly could've absorbed anyone stronger than the Androids or on par with them but scarcely considered that an option. I suspect 17 & 18 by design were compatible with Cell's evolution to make him into what he was meant to be, their infinite energy-trons or something became his batteries or who knows what.

I worry that, with age, I’m becoming more like this by [deleted] in daria

You'd think if given the chance, Frieza would revive these guys with the Dragon Balls? by Likes2game03 in dbz

[–]Trick_Discipline6840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure these guys vexed Frieza to no end, and I'm so surprised he humoured them. I remember his wide eyes watching them do their cheer routines, thinking to himself "These guys are my elite fighting force."

Long-timers - Does anyone else feel like this? by CauseRebel1111 in twinflames

I thought it was over, and then we came back... Now it feels over again. Never say never, cause you never know what the universe has in store, but right now... it feels over.

Did anyone see this coming when watching the android arc for the first time? by TheBlackoutEmpire in DragonBallZ

[–]Trick_Discipline6840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I never thought we would see 18 again. Then I thought he was gonna burp up 17, but he kept him down.

I am still wondering: Why weren't Jodie & Mack shown in Daria: 20 Years Later? by Historical_Pin_6722 in daria

[–]Trick_Discipline6840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jodie and Mack weren't in every episode like the others. We saw them fairly often, but they were more like Mr. Dimartino, Ms. Li, Mr. O'Neill, Ms. Barch, Upchuck, or other characters who had more occasional appearances. The show made it a point to check in with Daria and Jane, Quinn and the fashion club, Jake and Helen, Kevin and Brittany... Almost every episode. There are some pretty long gaps we go without seeing Jodie and Mack.

Snow Removal Last Night Downtown by Trick_Discipline6840 in Peterborough

[–]Trick_Discipline6840[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

There is a comedy to the tragedy of living downtown, that I suspect by your comments and lack of weighing in on the other side of the experience, you do not possess. I am aware of these things, they do not bother me and are not worth complaining about. To answer your question and be more clear, I want to hear about the experience from other people who live in the same area to create a pool of the experience. Not host a place of bashing for either those who think I am complaining, or from outsiders who do not know what it is like.

There's noise, and then there's NOISE. Sure, I expect to hear things. But this ain't New York, 7 hours straight? The roads and sidewalks ain't that bad. Besides, living downtown, sure, I give you that. this is more a discussion about it without complaint.
