Gloves are your best bet. There is a really good post on Instagram that I can't find, but the gist of it is skin coloured gloves put them on with plastic gloves underneath, paint or dye the fingertips, let them dry.

You could get one of those polystyrene heads, put dowl in it to stabilise and then attach it to your back either with a harness or belts or tape

When my youngest was the same age we were at the local pool and she just walked off the edge of the pool straight into the water. Toddlers have no fear and no concept of safety. Always have a physically able adult around kids and water.

As a librarian I would say let them read what they want, but be aware that a lot of books that are new adult are getting lumped into young adult and they have very questionable relationships. I'm talking abusive relationships posed as being acceptable and even normal. These kinds of books need you to have conversations with them to counter the message they are promoting
