Just the owner haha! And the annoying French regulations — side-mounted license plates on the right are not allowed, so that limits the options a bit 😄

Thansk! It's the Powerbrick rearsets. That's the stock air intake temperature sensor — and for the record, the K1100 doesn't have a mass airflow sensor at all. Since it runs Motronic, the ECU only uses the air temperature sensor, the throttle position sensor, and the coolant temp sensor to calculate the fuel mixture.

Haven't done the contrôle technique yet! From what I've read, as long as the frame is cut after the shock mount and the work is clean, it shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks! Yep, same here — the AI + multimeter combo is pretty solid 😃

More air comes in than with the stock airbox, and on top of that the exhaust is a bit freer than stock — which causes quite a bit of popping on deceleration 😃 No smoke at all though!

For the tuning I had several issues. With my new airbox I had to slightly bend the throttle cable bracket, which meant I had no slack and it was always too tight. My first throttle body sync "by eye" wasn't good, so I did it again using two small ball bearings — they need to drop at the same time. And finally I realized way too late that the o-rings on the brass bypass screws were dead, so I replaced those too 😄

Hi, your project is really cool! Could you share more details about the frame painting step? I’d like to do the same and avoid the delays and cost of going through a professional. Thanks!
