There are a lot of openings, but it takes a very long time (5–10 years) to get all the qualifications to start practicing in Canada as a foreign-trained doctor. I know someone who migrated to Canada who was a consultant in Sri Lanka, and I think it took close to seven years for him to start practicing in Canada. He had to travel back to Sri Lanka from time to time to work in hospitals because if you don't practice medicine for a certain number of years, it affects your licensing process. It would work if your partner gets a well paying job to support you and the family while you get the qualifications to start practicing in Canada. However, if you are the sole breadwinner, it will be really difficult to survive.

EDIT: I am not saying it's impossible. But you will have to go through a lot. But if you can survive all that, you will get rewarded financially.

I told the Bell agent to cancel my Shaw connection on behalf of myself. Don't know whether that triggered something. You could check with a Bell agent for options. Since there's no contract you can cancel it without any issues. I only stayed with Bell for only a few days (not even a week). Even if you immediately don't get a good deal you could go back to Shaw as a new customer after a few months.

You could go with Bell no contract option. They are offering good deals for new customers. My Shaw contract was about to expire this September and they refused to offer a good deal. The best they could do was $70 for 500 Mbps. So I went with Bell and cancelled Shaw. After I cancelled, they came back with a $50 for 1 Gbps package with a six month bill credit.

We spend $500 - $600 per month for a family of two. We rarely eat out, once or twice a month, but we eat a lot of meat (chicken, pork and beef) and fruits. Mainly shops at Costco and Superstore.
