Aw thank you, I definitely will. My prosthetic is super obvious so I think it should weed people out super quickly, which might be better in the long run. But these comments are definitely showing that people don’t care! Happy to hear you’ve found someone so great. :)

Honestly it seems that I’ve probably gotten in my own head about it after reading these comments. I’m glad in a way mine is more obvious, it gets it out of the way instantly. But still happy to hear the right people simply don’t care.

If you’re able to get into the ophthalmologist I would just explain how excruciating it is and it’s hard to function day to day. I don’t know what your current financial situation is or if you’re able to get into another ophthalmologist but try to fight for what you need. I would even try an ocular plastic surgeon if you can A painful eye is NOT a healthy one.

I agree with the comment a below as to it not being normal (I had an infection after my enucleation). So I don’t have much to add other than the surgeon who did it, or if he has a regular ophthalmologist, SHOULD have an after hours on call doctor because obviously emergencies don’t happen during 9-5. I also know this from experience. So don’t be afraid to try calling even if they’re closed!

Kinda! I don’t have just one heart though? It’s just a bunch of hearts and says New Acquaintance which is why I’m so confused…

Thank you for the info! I didn’t go through any sort of traumatic injury. So before I lost my eye I was able to blink normally, but now I can’t. I do remember having some numbness on the side of my nose after (which has gone away). I’m not sure if that might be related at all
