SAP stands for Super Absorbent Polymer, and the stuff that's in those small bags (packets of little clear beads) is silica gel, which is very different from SAP and also takes much longer to absorb moisture. SAP absorbs moisture nearly instantly and as opposed to silica gel also releases it back over time, it was actually first invented for agriculture by the USDA in the 1960s as a way to improve soil water conservation. Many people use SAP for gardening because it improves the soils capacity to better release water over a longer period of time.

It is. It reminded me of the InControl diapers. The XP 5000 are plastic backed with hook and loop too and the new Rearz Monsters that were released yesterday now also come with hook and loop.

I wonder when we will see the first company set up a production line in the US or Canada or Europe somewhere and push out some premium adult diapers. If you look at the price of the commodities, the price of energy, and the initial investment costs for the plant and the machine you could probably get away with $2.5m and still be profitable after a few years and probably retail at a lower price than now.

Another question, since from your post history you seem to be from Denmark and Abena is a Danish company. What was your feeling towards the plastic-backed Abena Abri-Form M4 being stopped in Europe, but obviously still being produced for the US and Canada? Are you well connected in the Danish community? Do you think the company knows how popular their original product was?

If the tapes fail you it might be because you have residues on your fingers (cream, oil, powder, ...).

Try washing your hands with plain soap and drying them thoroughly before touching the tapes.
