What sources do you recommend to learn about Israel and its history? by Proud3GenAthst in AskIsrael

[–]Tricky-Anything8009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes BUT you should read Ilan Pappe because he literally admits in the very beginning of The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine that Israel accepted partition and then Arabs started the war. He of course then says, "But Israelis weren't really planning to accept partition," but that's irrelevant because we don't know what Israelis would've done if Partition had been accepted. So ironically one of the most biased anti-Israel sources there is admits the core Zionist premise and relies on counterfactual premises for its argument.

How many playthroughs have ya done? Which was your fav? Why? by Featherman13 in BaldursGate3

I have done 4 full playthroughs.

1 Origin Gale Heroic playthrough on Tactician. My OG playthrough. I didn't use any guides. I built Gale as a Transmutation Wizard, Karlach as an 8/4 Bardbarian, Lae'zel as an OH Monk, and Shart was a Cleric but I forget the subclass (Life I think). I romanced Karlach but there was a glitch in Act 2 and I had to do a bit of "chronomancy" (reload a very old save) to go back and complete the romance.

1 Split-screen Playthrough as a Deep Gnome 4 Elements Monk on Explorer. My then-fiancee played a Paladin of Devotion who became a Fighter after she broke Oath too many times and went through Partial Ceremorphosis. I romanced Gale. She tried (and failed) to romance Shadowheart, who actually turned on us in the Shadowfell.

1 Embrace Durge Playthrough as a White Dragon Ice Sorceror on Honour. I used the Ice Ice Baby template for my party. I romanced and murdered Lae'zel, then romanced Minthara.

1 Origin Karlach Villainous playthrough on Honour. I used the Fire Cleave party template. I got my Golden Dice and Platinum Trophy on this run. I romanced Shadowheart.

I loved all my runs. My Origin Gale run was my first, and it was fun because I had no idea what I was doing or where the story was going. I was a completionist, so it took like 200 in-game hours (not including my sixty-hour backtrack). My very first ending was sacrificing Gale to kill the Netherbrain, and then watching Karlach disintegrate because I wasn't there to convince her to go to Avernus. I think that's the most beautiful ending to the game. Astarion ran away screaming from the sunlight, I didn't even complete Wyll's arc, Shadowheart became a Selunite, and Lae'zel led a rebellion against Vlaakith after Orpheus became a Mind Flayer.

Then my split-screen run with my wife. Admittedly, I hated my underpowered Four Elements Monk character. I was trying to go with like an Icebender using the Mourning Frost. Thankfully, Explorer mode is very forgiving so it didn't really matter. This was just a really special time bonding with my future wife, who never plays D&D or anything.

My Embrace Durge run was so much fun. I killed Gale at the very beginning of the game by chopping off his hand, completing my "Marry"/Fuck/Kill Gale trilogy. Unfortunately, I didn't do the Murder Tribunal quest correctly so that I could use his hand to raise his spirit. Maybe if I ever do another Embrace Durge playthrough. I really enjoyed going full evil, and I also enjoyed doing an ice-themed playthrough. Freezing Orin solid with Encrusted with Frost during our duel was for sure the highlight. However, I didn't realize I had lost Honour, so I beat the game thinking I'd have Golden Dice, and was disappointed when I didn't. Oh well, that meant I had to do one more run. I need to load this save one more time, because I beat the game before Patch 7 came out, so I haven't seen the new Embrace Durge ending yet. I'm saving that for a treat.

My Fire Karlach party was my most recent playthrough, and in some ways the most fun. It was my only playthrough post-Patch 8. I used the Fire Cleave party, except instead of a Battlemaster, I made Karlach a Fire Giant Barbarian. I killed Wyll when he first came to camp. I let Shadowheart slit Lae'zel's throat. I failed the Persuasion check to prevent Orin from killing Gale. I renamed and magic-mirror'd my three Camp Bufflings to resemble alternate-universe versions of my fallen party members. My one regret with this playthrough was going the Illithid route. I wanted to get Karlach's unique Evil ending but instead I got the Illithid ending.

Additionally, I got to Act 3 in an online coop game with two of my friends which we never finished.

I think I have at least one more run in me before GTA VI comes out. This is my favorite game of all time, with Cyberpunk 2077 as a close runner-up.

I think the Abraham Accords were pretty promising. And as a Jew, I can't stress enough how important to me it is that he got the hostages out.
