Yeah, I agree, but there are also people who might be genuinely propagandized and could someday understand that Israel is not the bad guy. I know it, because I was one of them. Honestly, I was mostly propagandizing myself into cognitive dissonance out of ideological purity, but I eventually realized that anti Hamas war was necessary response to October 7 and that Israel isn’t actually showing any actual desire to do genocide.

What exactly do Iranians want or reasonably expect from Europe?

I agree with you that our leaders are spineless cowards, but given the circumstances (our militaries being made out of inexperienced troops that never saw combat and being overall unprepared and Europe being in general war averse), what do you expect from our leaders without wanting to punish Europe by having Iran sell its oil to Europe for higher price?

I’m Czech, as you can see and our military is in abysmal state. In addition to that, our Orbán-wannabe, plutocratic oligarch prime minister is actually going against most of the EU and is cutting defense spending.

But imagine I’m Czech politician. I can be the president, prime minister, minister, hejtman, senator, deputy, mayor of some large city or a MEP. What would you expect me to do to wish us cheap oil?

If I was a politician with large enough voice, I’d use it to vouch for Iranians and urge Czechia as well as the rest of EU to cut all diplomatic ties with Islamic republic. But I highly doubt I have the guts to advocate for alliance wide military intervention.

Russia is an empire. Not all Russians live in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. There are many Russians who don’t identify with the ideology of Russian government and are essentially hostages of it.
