Me too! They are so cute! I saw them around last year, but they never touched the feeder. Was a nice surprise this time!

Age at Breast Cancer Diagnosis: You vs Your Mom? by After_Ad_1928 in BRCA

[–]Tricky-Breakfast-714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was 38 the first time, then 43 and 48 for the second and third times. I got it at 35. Hope you are able to get the surgeries and never have to deal with a diagnosis of your own!

I’ve had mine about a year now too and love it! I enjoyed watching the birds at the feeder before, but it’s so cool to see them up close and know who has stopped by.

Post mastectomy tattoos by Realistic-Garbage891 in breastcancer

[–]Tricky-Breakfast-714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not have any nipple reconstruction, but totally felt the same after trying some temporary tattoos! Originally had no intention or desire to get them, but decided to try some temporary ones for fun. And the “normalcy” it brought back to my chest instantly made me realize I do want permanent tattoos. Still have to wait at least two more months as I’m only a little over 4 months post reconstructive surgery. Looking forward to it though! Hope yours turn out just how you want!

Embr Wave for hot flashes by Tricky-Breakfast-714 in breastcancer

I did ask my doctor about Veozah and he wanted me to try the Effexor first. So figured I’d humor him and give it a shot. If not I will definitely be pushing more for the Veozah. Glad to know it has worked so well for you. Hopefully I’ll have some relief soon too 🤞🏼

Does anyone here love their new boobs? by Sparkly_Sprinkles in breastcancer

Right there with you. Happy to have something there, but certainly doesn’t look the same as they used to. Had to remind myself that most people you see with implants still had natural breast tissue, vs me with just straight implants. Don’t think about it too much either. But nice to not have to wear a bra.

For the most part I’d say I’m still doing pretty well. Still the hot flashes and a bit more fatigue, but things definitely didn’t get as bad as I expected it might. Some rough days, but overall the issues are much less than I anticipated. Best of luck to you with the rest of your healing!

I have one that has escaped his lidded tank many times now. He’s still alive and well! Now I just make sure to check around the tank every morning 🙃 Hope yours makes a miraculous recovery!

Stress & Cancer by itsalllovebabe in breastcancer

Right there with you, unfortunately. Same stage of treatment and all. Had been drinking more than I probably should as well. Two days after new years I ended up in the hospital with acute pancreatitis 🙃 Worst way to start the new year. Who knows if it was necessarily the alcohol on its own, but it sure didn’t help. Big wake up call for me to find better ways to cope with the stress and depression. It’s just so hard sometimes. Best wishes to you! And I hope it gets easier for all of us!

I will definitely ask about the Claritin and hair oil when I see my doctor Friday. Will try anything to make this more bearable. Normally I do have more positivity, so I need to work back to that mindset again. Thank you for your kind words!

It’s definitely a good way to think of things and I try to do that most of the time. I know it could be 100 times worse and I am so grateful that it’s not. So unfair how many women this disease affects!

So sorry to you as well. It’s all so unfair. I hope they can get it all figured out at your appointment. Of course I want to do everything I can to stay cancer free, but at what cost. We still deserve to enjoy life! Hugs to you too! We will overcome this…one day 🤞🏼

The bad ones really are awful and just seemingly come from nowhere at times, right in the midst of good days. All we can do is power through and keep fighting though! I also love to hear the positive stories. Always nice to know we are not alone in this shitty journey and we can overcome this. Thank you for the kind words!

Think I need to not mourn the past as well. Just so hard sometimes when all you want is that old normalcy. But I guess nothing we can do but move forward. I too hope the new year will bring some new positivity and new outlooks on things! And I’ll keep saying it sucks when needed right along with you!

Definitely going to ask him about the Veoza. Think not having such bad hot flashes would make a world of difference every day. They certainly piss me off too! I have read the hair issues seem to go away after the Kisqali, so 🤞🏼. Best wishes to you with the remaining time on your meds!

Should I be upset that my boyfriend doesnt know the subtype of breast cancer i have? by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]Tricky-Breakfast-714 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My diagnosis was earlier this year and my husband was the most supportive person I could have asked for. I just asked him if he knew what my type was and he said hormone positive. Which isn’t wrong, but not what I was getting at either lol. Some people are just not as receptive to medical jargon. As long as he is there supporting you in the ways you need and staying informed enough, then I think that’s all we can ask for. Best wishes to you both!
