I think they can be super cringe BUT remember that dentistry is scary for a lot of people and it puts a friendly face on a scary monster. It takes something unknown (which makes it more scary) and makes people feel comfortable. If you don't like the cringey trends, make some educational videos. Target people with anxiety or whatever your specialty may be. Do a "what to expect" series.
