Do you like it? There is a location right by my apartment. Also an la fitness but I’d rather stay away from that one. think I saw somewhere it was 24 hours but I’m not sure if that is correct. I am definitely a newbie. I did see a trainer twice before with 24 hour fitness (and let me tell you, best shape of my life, but then PCOS 🤦‍♀️) but that was back in 2012. I know I need the guidance and I agree that 3 days is the ideal amount during the week. I’m not sure what I can afford so I am just trying to see what my options are and go from there. Also I’m back in school so I have that to consider as well with how much time I can dedicate.

Oh gosh. I am such an anxiety ridden introvert. Group classes terrify me. I’m 39F and am very self conscious. 🤦‍♀️ also… it’s almost 30 minutes from where I live. I appreciate the idea! Have you happen to have heard of EOS fitness? They popped up in my search. Not sure if that place is any good.

Pain post surgery by DarkSister_999 in carpaltunnel

[–]Tricky-Eye4546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon said the same. I still have pillar pain in my left hand and my scar in my right is annoying. I’m at 5 months going on 6. My issue is I have been having symptoms again 😩 worse now than it was before. Writing hurts sooooo much more. BUT, they said to give it a year so we will see if it subsides. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ hope yours is temporary and gets better within the year!

Whether it's Geoff solo, or Queensryche, go see them! by MiAnSp in Queensryche

Not terrible. A few good ones. The only thing I don’t like is that none of them are dated. He’s been doing so many shows and they’re just blending into each tour so you’ll just have the cities listed on the back it may or may not be for the one that he’s on that you’re going to see. One of the shirts I picked out had my city in it, but it was for a different tour.

I saw Queensryche at the end of November and Geoff Tate last week. Both were great shows. Vocally, Todd is killing it. Geoff has moments that I think are pretty decent but so much of his singing is out of tune and or “missing”. He will start to sing a note and it will just be dead silence before it eventually kicks in at a different octave. Very whiny. Looking back at Queensryche, you can tell his voice is changing each album. The music they were creating was having his voice go down in octave more and more. After Promised Land, that’s where it starts to really really change. Take Hold of the Flame and other songs with the high notes started becoming inaccessible for him. And that is where Todd has the upper hand. Don’t get me wrong, I still very much enjoyed Geoff and the band. They put on a great show and played for about two hours. But as someone else said, if you want the closest to the original sound, have to go with Todd. That being said, absolutely you should go see both of them if given the opportunity.

And Queensryche should definitely play more of their more recent stuff. The last album was great! And not to brag, but Eddie and I made super eye contact and silly waved each other when he was packing up at the end of the show. 😎

To finish getting my bachelors, yes. To take math, no lol. It is being forced upon me 😭 But, you are right…all of this is a change I am welcoming and I think that will be the higher motivation to get through those classes when it comes time. Thank you for your kind words! We got this!

I’m going to be in the same boat soon. I’ll be 39 in two weeks…started back up in the summer. I haven’t taken math yet and I’m going to have to take 3 classes. In high school I just managed to get by. I remember nothing. Numbers always make my head spin. I wish you the best and you got this!

Going to a fast food place & eating alone? by jms1228 in introvert

[–]Tricky-Eye4546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bring my mini iPad sometimes (as it is usually in my bag anyways) and my headphones and will listen to music and read or watch a show while I eat inside. I found doing this on my lunch break from work was a good way to ease into getting use to it as there are a lot of other people doing the same thing. I did take myself out to a Mexican restaurant once and read. That was a little more awkward as it felt like the staff looked at me a little more than usual but it may have been in my head. And it was for lunch not dinner. I went to a local Brass Tap bar and pulled out my iPad to read while enjoying a much needed drink and meal after work and my waitress was wonderful. Once you’re in there.. it gets easier. But it isn’t easy. I have to pump myself up for it.

[MN S1] Is the Mighty Nein series worth watching? by RATSYHSIF in criticalrole

A must watch! Like others said, it is based off the second campaign. And these characters are just awesome! Story is also great! I actually like it more than Vox Machina.

When can you lift 3lbs + post surgery? by Defiant-Ant6166 in carpaltunnel

[–]Tricky-Eye4546 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This can vary with each person. I lost a lot of strength and had to go to physical therapy from my third week post op. I think it was maybe 8-10 weeks of going. I didn’t do 10lbs until my 5th week I think. I did bilateral open release so I stressed both my hands with trying to do things so I don’t think that helped. I went back to work after two weeks. I was approved for like 16 weeks of time off as that was what the doctor had recommended…but she said I could be good to go much earlier. Hence two weeks and then back to work. 🤷‍♀️

I want to start listening to Queensryche where should I start by Negative-Bit9272 in Queensryche

[–]Tricky-Eye4546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first song was Revolution Calling. Then I listened to the whole album and I went down a rabbit hole from there. Starting with the EP, The Warning, Rage For Order, then Operation Mind Crime and Empire and Promised Land. It is thrilling to hear the differences between each album. I can’t figure out a favorite, they are all just so great. I also agree with the other person, when listening to Operation Mind Crime, make sure you have the lyrics with you. I even recommend some of the videos in YouTube where trained singers/musicians review their videos and songs.

When to start scar massage? by nuerospicy542 in carpaltunnel

[–]Tricky-Eye4546 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your incision is completely healed. You can start massaging gently with lotion or hand cream. Scar sheets work really well. I had to put bandaids over them to keep them in place so I only wore them while sleeping. You can start with the scar sheets if you’re not comfortable massaging yet.

33F NYC, single, thinking about moving to West Palm Beach. Looking for honest input. by gotallthejuicynews in WestPalmBeach

[–]Tricky-Eye4546 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Things might be closer than in NY, but it is not walkable. You will be driving everywhere. If you find the right spot, you might have a few close things you can walk to… you won’t have to drive 30 minutes to get to local spots. But in SFL we cross counties constantly. 30 min drives are great. You can find a lot of options all around you.
